Samsonite L35 Notebook Case Review

(More customer reviews)When I was shopping for a notebook case that was not too bulky for everyday use. I only needed to bring my notebook and power cord, and an occasional file or two.
This Samsonite L35 laptop carrying case is exactly what I need for both everyday and travel use. I have it for each of my laptops. Not only does it carry all the necessary notebook requirements (power cable, ethernet cable, files, etc.), but everything else such as my wallet, phone, and sometimes a slim external hard drive.
The added padding protected my laptop from its demise after a few accidental mishaps. Thanks, Samsonite!!!
For my personal laptop, I have a Sony VAIO with a 13.3" screen, and it carries all of the necessities, which include a wireless optical mouse.
For my work laptop, I have an HP (Mobile Centrino) with a 15" screen, and it fits it perfectly! I carry more things, which include a wireless optic mouse, a wireless USB network adapter (to supplement/increase the gain of the internal wireless card on my notebook), and a CD wallet case. The other great thing about this case is the "flap" that can fit onto my carry-on luggage pull handle. If one didn't know what this was for, it can be easily mistaken for an external compartment with a "design flaw" of having the bottom of the pocket open. I am a professor at a medical university, and I travel at least once a month to give lectures in Universities and Scientific Conferences, so this is a definitely a big design advantage for travelers.
Conclusion: It is small enough to be conveniently used for everything I need it for, yet big enough to carry everything that I need.
Because the Samsonite L35 is doing its job as a notebook carrying case, I gave it 5 stars. I use the L35 when I just need to carry the notebook and the power cord. I also have the Samsonite XT530, which can hold more things, such as files and cables and peripherals portable drives. The XT530 is what I use when I need to bring more stuff.

Brown Faux Croc Bag Review

(More customer reviews)Hello. I bought this item directly form the manufacturer. The inside dimension is 14.25" and not 15.25". I had measured my laptop before ordering, and I was disappointed to discover that the interior width is shorter than it was advertised. I am in the process of trying to return the item, but the seller (although friendly when you get her) is not good about returning emails or phone calls in a timely manner. I ordered the item on February 18, 2011, and it's now February 26, 2011; I have yet to get a return label.
Regarding the bag itself, it's really cute. Very glossy and a nice caramel color. I wish that I had known the dimensions were off, because I then wouldn't be wasting my time trying to get a new shipping label, placing my return, and then trying to get a new bag sent to me.
Ugh.

Amaro 61007 Small Century Messenger Bag - Black Review

(More customer reviews)This is a decent messenger/day trip bag. It has a zipper at the top of the flap, making the flap a pocket and the same on the back of the bag. These are full sized and the only two zippered pockets accessible from the outside. as well there is a zippered "pouch" pocket under the flap on the front of the main compartment. This is where there are small organizer slots for small items (credit cards) and 3 or so pens. No clip for holding keys. The main compartment is zippered across the top and has another zippered "slot" on the inside back of the main compartment. It runs the whole width of the bag and most of the height of the inside. I will keep a small internet tablet (7" screen) in it but it isn't appropriate for even a netbook, I don't think. The zipper closing the main compartment requires both hands to open and close (minor issue). On the outside ends are a couple of pockets. One is canvas with a Velcro closure cover and the other is a small "stretch net" suitable for a small umbrella or a very small water bottle. The shoulder strap is wide and adjustable but doesn't swivel...it is sewn into the bag at end. The main flap cover is held closed by one plastic snap buckle....which is ok but I hope the flap lays flat during it's life. There is no handle across the top for easy grabbing, I'm going to add a simple one by having my seamstress sew a 1 inch wide handle of the same material the strap is made of. It will be attached at the top of the back panel as not to put pressure on the flap and provide better balance. There's about a 1 inch area that doesn't affect any of the pockets where it can be attached. I've missed having a handle. I'll also have a key clip added somewhere on the inside of the "pouch" pocket where the organizer is located.
All-in-all it is a decent bag which will hold enough stuff. I was able to comfortably get my mother's 11.6" screen (with extended battery) netbook into the main compartment (not in the inside back zippered slot) and there was plenty of room for computer accessories and a couple of small books. No padding. I really think that a price of $16.99 +/- is fair but anything much more is overpriced, in my opinion.

(More customer reviews)This is a great bag, and it's exactly what I expected it to be. I bought it for a 15" Macbook Pro, which fits comfortably. The bag provides enough protection to give me peace of mind while transporting my MBP, along with an assortment of ample storage pockets. I can fit the charger, a notebook, pens, blackberry, and a few software titles just fine. The great thing about the bag though, is that if you don't need all that storage space, the bag still looks relatively slim and compact. I'll chalk that up to intelligent design.
If my MBP was ever going to be off my person (say in an overhead bin on an airplane, or something) then I would definitely want more protection. But if you are just taking it to work or school, this bag is perfectly sufficient.
The construction of this bag is very solid, and while I've only had it for about 5 weeks now, I expect it to hold up for a long time. I had a similar JanSport laptop bag before this, and it prompted me to stick with a name I trust.
As far as aesthetics, I really like the look of the bag. It's not too casual and not too serious, just the right balance. I got the Sumo Green color, and it's an exact match to the product pictures. So, it's a shade of brown, despite the name. I was worried it would show up in a puke green color.
Overall, I am very happy. Great bag, ample storage, rugged design, attractive look, and the price is actually pretty good for the bag, in my opinion.

(More customer reviews)The bag is wonderful, spacious, and elegant. Very functional. I like it a lot and use it daily whether going to my office or home visits. People can smell the letter and realize that it is a classy item.
I bought the bigger bag thinking that it had a larger inside interior than the step down model but it has a separate double bottom, accessible from outside with a zipper. I did not mind that.
I gave it four stars only because of two observations. First, one of the screws on the handle comes loose every so often (I carry a small screw driver in the bag for on the spot tightening). Second, the upper closing metal device does not have a natural click. I have to turn the bag facing away from me to be able to close it with one hand. Otherwise, I have to use both hands to align and close it ( the main compartment). I am afraid that in time the metal teeth it uses will brake or lose the grip.
The anterior buckle (anterior pocket) is very practical and closes/opens smoothly. I wished they had used a similar mechanism for the main compartment.

(More customer reviews)This is a very nice, well designed book bag. The main Laptop compartment is very well padded and it has a strap on the inside to keep the laptop securely in place. The middle compartment has two dividers inside of it to help organize your things. The front pocket doesn't really have enough space to store anything major, but the Cell phone pocket is very convenient.
The picture is somewhat misleading to me. I thought it would be a lot wider than it is. Tye size is not too large, big enough for any student. It has enough pockets to store loads of extra things, especially small, easy-to-lose things.
The outside is very durable. I would bet you could take a knife to it and it wouldn't rip.(Not a guarantee, just speculation). All in all, a very dependable, sturdy, stylish back pack.
*EDIT* I tried this yesterday, and my Xbox 360 fit in the Laptop padded compartment, if that gives you an idea.
