(More customer reviews)This is a decent messenger/day trip bag. It has a zipper at the top of the flap, making the flap a pocket and the same on the back of the bag. These are full sized and the only two zippered pockets accessible from the outside. as well there is a zippered "pouch" pocket under the flap on the front of the main compartment. This is where there are small organizer slots for small items (credit cards) and 3 or so pens. No clip for holding keys. The main compartment is zippered across the top and has another zippered "slot" on the inside back of the main compartment. It runs the whole width of the bag and most of the height of the inside. I will keep a small internet tablet (7" screen) in it but it isn't appropriate for even a netbook, I don't think. The zipper closing the main compartment requires both hands to open and close (minor issue). On the outside ends are a couple of pockets. One is canvas with a Velcro closure cover and the other is a small "stretch net" suitable for a small umbrella or a very small water bottle. The shoulder strap is wide and adjustable but doesn't swivel...it is sewn into the bag at end. The main flap cover is held closed by one plastic snap buckle....which is ok but I hope the flap lays flat during it's life. There is no handle across the top for easy grabbing, I'm going to add a simple one by having my seamstress sew a 1 inch wide handle of the same material the strap is made of. It will be attached at the top of the back panel as not to put pressure on the flap and provide better balance. There's about a 1 inch area that doesn't affect any of the pockets where it can be attached. I've missed having a handle. I'll also have a key clip added somewhere on the inside of the "pouch" pocket where the organizer is located.
All-in-all it is a decent bag which will hold enough stuff. I was able to comfortably get my mother's 11.6" screen (with extended battery) netbook into the main compartment (not in the inside back zippered slot) and there was plenty of room for computer accessories and a couple of small books. No padding. I really think that a price of $16.99 +/- is fair but anything much more is overpriced, in my opinion.

(More customer reviews)This is a great bag, and it's exactly what I expected it to be. I bought it for a 15" Macbook Pro, which fits comfortably. The bag provides enough protection to give me peace of mind while transporting my MBP, along with an assortment of ample storage pockets. I can fit the charger, a notebook, pens, blackberry, and a few software titles just fine. The great thing about the bag though, is that if you don't need all that storage space, the bag still looks relatively slim and compact. I'll chalk that up to intelligent design.
If my MBP was ever going to be off my person (say in an overhead bin on an airplane, or something) then I would definitely want more protection. But if you are just taking it to work or school, this bag is perfectly sufficient.
The construction of this bag is very solid, and while I've only had it for about 5 weeks now, I expect it to hold up for a long time. I had a similar JanSport laptop bag before this, and it prompted me to stick with a name I trust.
As far as aesthetics, I really like the look of the bag. It's not too casual and not too serious, just the right balance. I got the Sumo Green color, and it's an exact match to the product pictures. So, it's a shade of brown, despite the name. I was worried it would show up in a puke green color.
Overall, I am very happy. Great bag, ample storage, rugged design, attractive look, and the price is actually pretty good for the bag, in my opinion.

Manhattan Portage Manhattan Bag Review

(More customer reviews)I've been carrying this bag for over a year. Some of the things I like about it are:
-- Perfect size, just barely big enough for an 8.5x11 file folder or notepad, but no bigger.
-- Very lightweight, but the material is very durable, I see no change after over a year.
-- Looks clean, has a "messenger bag" vibe even though it isn't a messenger bag, and doesn't look pretentious or fussy like a lot of leather "manbags".
-- Thin shape, doesn't look like a big bag, but it's flexible so it can hold unusual shape things (like a few groceries).
Some things that could be improved next time the bag gets redesigned:
-- The pocket on the front flap allows things to slip behind the back of the bag and get lost when the flap is lifted up.
-- It could use a little padding on the bottom. Currently there is no padding anywhere.
-- It could use one or two small interior pockets for small things such as a compact camera or phone.

(More customer reviews)Bought this bag before going to Costa Rica for 2 months, and it was perfect. The fabric is great for travel, it's waterproof, rip proof, and stain resistant. It holds tons of essentials if you like to travel light. I carried: wallet, sunglasses, paperback book, camera, etc. and still had space. I like the velcro too for theft prevention, it's loud, so you would definitely notice if someone tried to get in your bag.

(More customer reviews)I recently went on vacation with the bag and I found it the closing flap to be looser than I would have liked. It was ok at home when my bag was full, but on vacation I only carried the essentials. Since it wasn't full, there was a large gap between the flap and the bag itself - enough for my hand to reach in all the time and grab stuff. It didn't bother me until a pickpocket reached inside a friend's bag on the metro and I realized that the bag may have been an easy target. I considered sewing a zipper on the inside, but I haven't figured our the workings of that yet. Generally OK bag though. Just be careful!

(More customer reviews)A friend of mine had this messenger bag, so I knew what I was getting when I made the purchase. It is worth every penny! There is no end to the number of zippered pockets for everything from a cell phone to an iPod. The computer section is well protected and is airport security friendly, so you do not have to remove your laptop from this "case in a case." There is also plenty of room for document, plus an easy to get to outside zippered area for items like a boarding pass. Even the packaging it came in was so nice I hated to throw it away.

Nautica Luggage Spinnaker Messenger Bag Review

(More customer reviews)I was very hesitant to buy this bag because there were no reviews, but did so a few months back because I got a really good deal on it. I take it with me to school and class every day and it holds up very well despite the heavy textbooks that I put in it. It has a very nice divider for 15'' (ish) laptop. There's only a few pockets/zippers (which I like). Best messenger bag that I've ever owned.
Only complaints would be that the side pockets are too small for a watter bottle and that the velcro squares don't line up well (I removed them so that they wouldn't tear up any of the bag... the buckles are sufficient).
I would recommend it to anyone :)
