Samsonite L35 Notebook Case Review

(More customer reviews)When I was shopping for a notebook case that was not too bulky for everyday use. I only needed to bring my notebook and power cord, and an occasional file or two.
This Samsonite L35 laptop carrying case is exactly what I need for both everyday and travel use. I have it for each of my laptops. Not only does it carry all the necessary notebook requirements (power cable, ethernet cable, files, etc.), but everything else such as my wallet, phone, and sometimes a slim external hard drive.
The added padding protected my laptop from its demise after a few accidental mishaps. Thanks, Samsonite!!!
For my personal laptop, I have a Sony VAIO with a 13.3" screen, and it carries all of the necessities, which include a wireless optical mouse.
For my work laptop, I have an HP (Mobile Centrino) with a 15" screen, and it fits it perfectly! I carry more things, which include a wireless optic mouse, a wireless USB network adapter (to supplement/increase the gain of the internal wireless card on my notebook), and a CD wallet case. The other great thing about this case is the "flap" that can fit onto my carry-on luggage pull handle. If one didn't know what this was for, it can be easily mistaken for an external compartment with a "design flaw" of having the bottom of the pocket open. I am a professor at a medical university, and I travel at least once a month to give lectures in Universities and Scientific Conferences, so this is a definitely a big design advantage for travelers.
Conclusion: It is small enough to be conveniently used for everything I need it for, yet big enough to carry everything that I need.
Because the Samsonite L35 is doing its job as a notebook carrying case, I gave it 5 stars. I use the L35 when I just need to carry the notebook and the power cord. I also have the Samsonite XT530, which can hold more things, such as files and cables and peripherals portable drives. The XT530 is what I use when I need to bring more stuff.

Sony VAIO Backpack Review

Only drawback is there is not much room books with the Vaio in there as well.

(More customer reviews)This is an excellent case for my HP notebook, which is slightly over 17 inches. My 'puter was securely snug, with plenty of padding, as well as overlapping velcro-fastened swaddling. There are plenty of spaces for folders, notes, CD's, power cords and all the trappings that our busy, modern-day life requires. The shoulder strap distributes the weight evenly, so even though my computer is heavy it's very easy to transport.
I'm very satisfied with this case, and I heartily recommend it.

Solo 15.4- Inch Womens Leather Laptop Carryall (Dark Brown) Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this bag on sale at an office supply store, not through Amazon. But I love it so much, I wanted to leave a review.
First of all, I've seen this bag being sold online for up to $300, but I paid the same sale price listed here (about $80), which is a great deal because this bag is made of real, quality leather. I never thought I could find something like this in my price range.
The color is "espresso." I actually thought it was black when I bought it, but later realized it is a very rich, dark brown color (hence the name). It looks good with any color outfit, though. The canvas on the inside is blue (not pictured here, but you can find other pictures of the inside online).
This bag is great because of the quality and style, but also because of its utility and durability. The leather exterior ensures that your papers and electronics stay dry in wet weather (This is a big deal to me. My old bag was canvas and in heavy rain my books and papers would always get wet). I've been carrying this daily in NYC for 4 months and so far it looks like new (no scuff marks or water stains from raindrops). I really hope that continues.
Inside there is a lightly padded laptop compartment with a velcro strap to hold it in. This compartment can also be used for papers or books. There are three open vertical pockets that can hold pens, cell phones, ipods, glasses, etc. There is also one zippered pocket along the front lining. The bag is able to hold everything I need without being too bulky. On a daily basis I carry one college sized textbook, a folder of papers, everything that would normally go in a purse (wallet, keys, pens, ipod, tissues, etc.), an umbrella, and a water bottle. I don't always carry my laptop with me, but it does fit with all the other items mentioned (I have a 13' MacBook Air with a small power cord. Anything larger wouldn't fit with all the other stuff.)
I would recommend this bag to anybody with similar needs. It's really a great value! If you are looking for a simple laptop case, this might be a bit too roomy for you. It really is more of a "carryall," as the name indicates.

Sumdex Netbook Messenger Bag for Notebooks up to 10.6 Inches (Black) Review

(More customer reviews)I recently bought this bag because none of the bags I've found that are made specifically for my ASUS Eee PC 901 have shoulder straps. And I like having my hands free when I'm out and about.
This bag appears well-made, and I like the feel of the exterior fabric. The compartments are lined in gray nylon, which is a little better than black for visibility of the contents but not as light-colored as I might wish.
The main compartment opens widely with a zipper that goes around three sides, and is padded all around. There's a side pocket in the main compartment into which my little Eee slips snugly. I think that the average sized small notebook (the bag tag says it fits most 10.6" screen notebooks) would be placed in the main area of the compartment, with the side pocket used for accessories. When I'm not carrying my Eee, I will probably be carrying my Kindle in that side pocket.
The front-opening compartment, unlike some I've seen, is really big enough to be useful, with pen loops, a couple of small pockets and enough room for my wallet and other stuff that doesn't fit into those fussy little credit card sized slots, with which thankfully this bag is not oversupplied. A small third compartment is on top in front of the main compartment, accessed by its own zipper, and would work for an iPod, a cell phone or anything small that you'd want fast access to without having to rummage around. (In my case, keys.)
The shoulder strap is adjustable, which allows for carrying across-the-body when I really want to go hands-free or more casually over one shoulder. However, the strap is not removable (sewn in at each side).
I expect to use this bag often. Because it holds my Eee (and/or Kindle), with plenty of room for other things, I will put all my usual "purse" stuff in it and not carry a separate handbag.
Bottom line, this looks like good value for the price, a versatile mid-sized bag for use around town and when traveling, with a padded main compartment to provide some protection for small electronics.
Updated later to add: I have now bought another bag with a shoulder strap which is marketed for 7 to 10 inch Asus Eee PCs: Asus Eee Pc 7-10 Inch Laptop Case by Case Logic. I like it, and can see using it for traveling with the 901 and some around-town uses when my MT-3 is stuffed full of other things. :-)

Case Logic CLRS Security Friendly Rolling 17-Inch Laptop Case (Black) Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this bag for carrying a larger laptop and for doing a lot of 1-2 night trips so only a small amount of clothes are required. Thus I can reduce to one bag and not have to check bags. Plus its small enough so that I never see HAVING to check it, but big enough to carry what I need for a short trip. This will not work for more than 2 day trip or even if you have to bring extra shoes, unless your feet are very small.
I can also say the pictures are wrong, this seems to happen a lot on amazon lately. The movie is accurate and the way to store the computer is very clever, in a little TSA approved sleeve, and it slides in to the middle portion with just a clip rather than a zipper. this is perfect for the airport check in. i think in the picture it shows the laptop going into the clothing section?
The handle is nice seems to work well, though that's the first thing that goes on every rolling bag i have ever owned. So this seems to have the right combination of everything I need, it more of a very nice computer bag with a spot for clothes vs. others I have seen which are carry-ons with an inadequate spot for computer and office accessories. It seems well made but haven't had it long enough to test out the long term durability. i can say it would work well as an every day office commuter AND over night bag, though i do not commute, but its not overly big for that. there is no shoulder strap, nice soft leather handles though.

POTOMAC from SwissGear by Wenger Computer Double Gusset Rolling Case Review

(More customer reviews)I saw the PATRIOT, POTOMAC's bigger version, at Staples the other day and fell in love with its sleek design and SwissGear standards. However, the Patriot is much too big for my purposes (laptop + paperwork transportion to/from office, business travels, etc)... so I tried to find another SwissGear bag of similar design and smaller proportions. I came upon Potomac on Amazon and wasn't too impressed with its design compared to Patriot. However, I read the reviews, took a chance, and ordered it.
It's fantastic! It looks better than it does in the photos. It's roomy (a tiny bit too big for me still but it's all good), sturdy, and handsome. I like to remove the laptop tote and use it for everyday purposes when I don't have to lug around paperwork from the office.
Very happy with the purchase.
