(More customer reviews)This is a decent messenger/day trip bag. It has a zipper at the top of the flap, making the flap a pocket and the same on the back of the bag. These are full sized and the only two zippered pockets accessible from the outside. as well there is a zippered "pouch" pocket under the flap on the front of the main compartment. This is where there are small organizer slots for small items (credit cards) and 3 or so pens. No clip for holding keys. The main compartment is zippered across the top and has another zippered "slot" on the inside back of the main compartment. It runs the whole width of the bag and most of the height of the inside. I will keep a small internet tablet (7" screen) in it but it isn't appropriate for even a netbook, I don't think. The zipper closing the main compartment requires both hands to open and close (minor issue). On the outside ends are a couple of pockets. One is canvas with a Velcro closure cover and the other is a small "stretch net" suitable for a small umbrella or a very small water bottle. The shoulder strap is wide and adjustable but doesn't swivel...it is sewn into the bag at end. The main flap cover is held closed by one plastic snap buckle....which is ok but I hope the flap lays flat during it's life. There is no handle across the top for easy grabbing, I'm going to add a simple one by having my seamstress sew a 1 inch wide handle of the same material the strap is made of. It will be attached at the top of the back panel as not to put pressure on the flap and provide better balance. There's about a 1 inch area that doesn't affect any of the pockets where it can be attached. I've missed having a handle. I'll also have a key clip added somewhere on the inside of the "pouch" pocket where the organizer is located.
All-in-all it is a decent bag which will hold enough stuff. I was able to comfortably get my mother's 11.6" screen (with extended battery) netbook into the main compartment (not in the inside back zippered slot) and there was plenty of room for computer accessories and a couple of small books. No padding. I really think that a price of $16.99 +/- is fair but anything much more is overpriced, in my opinion.

(More customer reviews)This is a great bag, and it's exactly what I expected it to be. I bought it for a 15" Macbook Pro, which fits comfortably. The bag provides enough protection to give me peace of mind while transporting my MBP, along with an assortment of ample storage pockets. I can fit the charger, a notebook, pens, blackberry, and a few software titles just fine. The great thing about the bag though, is that if you don't need all that storage space, the bag still looks relatively slim and compact. I'll chalk that up to intelligent design.
If my MBP was ever going to be off my person (say in an overhead bin on an airplane, or something) then I would definitely want more protection. But if you are just taking it to work or school, this bag is perfectly sufficient.
The construction of this bag is very solid, and while I've only had it for about 5 weeks now, I expect it to hold up for a long time. I had a similar JanSport laptop bag before this, and it prompted me to stick with a name I trust.
As far as aesthetics, I really like the look of the bag. It's not too casual and not too serious, just the right balance. I got the Sumo Green color, and it's an exact match to the product pictures. So, it's a shade of brown, despite the name. I was worried it would show up in a puke green color.
Overall, I am very happy. Great bag, ample storage, rugged design, attractive look, and the price is actually pretty good for the bag, in my opinion.

The interior has 4 slit pockets and one zipper pocket on the part that houses the laptop. I have a 15.6" laptop and it fits snuggly in the 16" compartment... not too snug where you can't get it out. The padding of the bag is great too. There is enough room, even with the laptop and interior pockets containing items to house a 1-inch binder!! The outside has a Velcro pocket on the back and two pockets on the front: one that is Velcro and big enough to store your mouse and the second that will hold the power cords. The bottom has two rubber feet that help it remain upright and from getting too dirty if you set it on the floor. This bag is designed well enough to keep you organized and looking good!! District Threads Montezuma Messenger Bag Review

(More customer reviews)This bag is really worth a look, especially if you don't want to pay a fortune. I've compared lots of bags so I can say what's unusual, or at least not universal, about this one. Its virtues: it is strong, much moreso than many other bags. It has swivel clips holding on the shoulder strap, so the strap doesn't twist painfully against you, and these also make the shoulder strap easily removable. There's a soft, wide pad on the shoulder strap which slides, so you can adjust where it is. The length of the strap is adjustable, and there's a buckle, like the one on an airplane seatbelt, that is supposedly quick-release, but it seems stuck shut on mine and I haven't tried hard to open it. The top carry handle is nicely padded. There's a cross-body strap across the back, removable, that allows you to attach it around your waist in case you're on a bike or just don't want it swinging. A large, zip-top pocket extends all across the back and has open-top slip-in pockets inside it. That zipper has an elongated pull, easy to open with gloves on. The back wall is padded, with grooves to keep you from getting too sweaty. Inside the bag, there's a laptop compartment with a velcro strap that crosses over. The inside compartment does not zip shut--a plus for me, because the bag opens all the way. Inside along the front wall, there are two large zip-shut pockets (good for your toothbrush, comb, etc.) and several hanging, open-top pen slots and somewhat wider pockets, wide enough for a slim cell phone or ipod, though they are not lined with anything soft. There's also a clear card holder so you can put your name in the bag. On the front exterior, under the flap, there are three open-top pockets and one zip pocket, all pretty big. On each side, there's a water bottle pocket with a stretchy top, not quite big enough for a liter or Nalgene bottle, but suitable for a 20-oz bottle and, with effort, a bottle of Snapple. The flap closes with two plastic squeeze clips that are on the outside of the flap--no awkward reaching under. There are reflector patches on the bottom straps of these buckles. The flap also closes with two long velcro strips. There's also a loop on the bottom front of the bag. The bottom is rubber, so you can set the bag down, say, in a snowy parking lot.
I've used this bag for about six months and it is holding up beautifully. I'm a college professor, so I abuse it with heavy books and lots of slinging around, yet it looks brand new. The luminous black color in the picture is for real and hasn't faded. The bag is as waterproof as I need it to be in northern New Hampshire; can't vouch for Seattle.
What I don't like: I don't carry a laptop, so I removed the laptop wall/floor inside. After that, the back of the bag started curling around toward the front, so I can only carry the bag with the front toward me, not both ways. Also, the top handle is sewn to the back wall, so if you carry the bag that way while loaded, it will tilt forward. That's true of most bags, however. I removed the velcro on the main bag because I didn't like the noisy ripping sound, but I unwisely also removed the prickly velcro patch on the underside of the flap. It turned out the buckle strap was sewn in with that patch, so the top buckle fell off and I had to sew it back on. Also, I don't like having my penholders inside. It makes the pens harder to grab when I'm teaching, and the whole set of inside pockets hangs over the inside contents, reducing the interior space and making some things hard to access. For these reasons I'm now shopping for a new bag, but anyone without these concerns would probably find this bag very useful, good-looking, sturdy, and well-priced.

This has :
locking clips, velcro AND a zipper for the main case.
Wow.. talk about secure.
My main gripe about this case is that when you do zip the main case the flap gets in the way and it isn't the easiest to close.
I find myself fumbling around to zip close the bag. opening is much simpler since once you get the zippers started they almost naturally open.
This bag is listed as fitting only 13" macbook pros this is true and false
The laptop sleeve that is given to you with the bag will only fit the 13" unit but the bag itself can fit up the 15" with a booq Vyper XL sleeve with no problem
I carry my 15" in the sleeve as well as an ipad in the main compartment with ease.
I also wish the zipper on the front of the bag was large enough to fit an ipad in, that would make this bag truly perfect

I bought this bag to hold my sketchbooks and some pens while I'm commuting on public transport.
The construction is very good. It's well stitched. The material used is tough. The sling is wide and comfortable on the shoulder. The whole bag feels durable and it is certainly very portable.
There are five pockets.
On the side is a small pocket big enough for two pens. On front flap, there's a zipped pocket big enough for a few pens or the mobile phone. Inside, after unbuckling, there are three zipped pockets - two in front and the main compartment. The two are in two sizes, the small one can hold a mp3 player, keys, the little items, and the other larger one is big enough to hold a DVD box. The main compartment is large enough to hold a few A5 notepad.
It can probably squeeze in a point-and-shoot camera but that would depend on the size of the camera, and you have to take stuff out from the main compartment.
I think it's slightly expensive but it's well worth the money.

Golla MATCH gray 2010 Easy 16-Inch Messenger Review

(More customer reviews)I saw some photos of the Golla Match laptop bag and saw that it was just what I was after. It looked stylish and somehow understated and was not black! Quite a difficult combination to find. Also having tried a similar sized satchel bag from Golla, I knew that my laptop fitted perfectly.
Unfortunately these are virtually impossible to buy in New Zealand, as no-one stocks them. Step up Amazon where I managed to purchase one on sale for half price. Bargain! Unfortunately I had to get it shipped to a friend in the US who then forwarded it on. Freight came more than the price of the bag itself. Ouch!
But it did turn out to be worth it. The bag does it's job really well. It protects my laptop, is easy to clean remaining unmarked (so far) and has great attention to detail. For me it seems to have a compartment for everything I need without being cumbersome. And it doesn't look like a last minute addition to whatever I am wearing. Golla strive to make 'fashion bags' and this one does not disappoint. Highly recommended.

-- Perfect size, just barely big enough for an 8.5x11 file folder or notepad, but no bigger.
-- Very lightweight, but the material is very durable, I see no change after over a year.
-- Looks clean, has a "messenger bag" vibe even though it isn't a messenger bag, and doesn't look pretentious or fussy like a lot of leather "manbags".
-- Thin shape, doesn't look like a big bag, but it's flexible so it can hold unusual shape things (like a few groceries).
Some things that could be improved next time the bag gets redesigned:
-- The pocket on the front flap allows things to slip behind the back of the bag and get lost when the flap is lifted up.
-- It could use a little padding on the bottom. Currently there is no padding anywhere.
-- It could use one or two small interior pockets for small things such as a compact camera or phone.
