(More customer reviews)I have used Eagle Creek bags for a number of years, and have been very pleased with their durability and functionality. Normally I travel with a smaller Eagle Creek bag, but I bought this bag for an upcoming long (three week) trip that involves a wide variety of activities (e.g. hiking, formal events, city travel). I was looking for a bag with a large, open packing space (which this bag has), that offers a lot of flexibility for packing.
I recently used it for two of us on a shorter trip just to ensure that it would work in terms of size, smooth rolling, zippers working well, etc. It worked great, and I have no complaints. I expect that I will be able to pack most, if not all, of the items that two of us will need for the longer trip.
One concern that I had was that it would be easy to over-pack in terms of airline weight limits. I was pleasantly surprised on my recent trip to find the total weight (not expanded, and not "stuffed") to be 35 pounds - well within the weight limit allowed by the airline.
One caveat: I purchased this in "crush" (orange), because that color was on sale. The upside to this color is that it was very easy to spot among the checked bags when we arrived. The downside is that it picked up some dirty marks after only one trip (four flight segments). Personally, I use luggage to get my items where they are going, so it was not an issue for me. However, if you want to keep your bag looking newer, you probably should choose a darker color.
