(More customer reviews)I purchased the Alpha 22922 based on its advertised dimensions of 22" x 14" x 9" and was surprised to discover that the length actually measures 23-1/2". This puts it over the published limits of most domestic airlines and puts you at the mercy of the flight crews. While they have yet to stop me from carrying it onboard, it almost always has to be turned sidewise to fit in the overhead*, so that I am taking up far more than my share of the bin. Otherwise a great bag. If I had it to do over again, I would get Tumi's smaller Alpha 22020 (International) bag which holds almost as much and would make for less stressful boardings.
* The exceptions are the large center-isle aircraft(such as the Boeing 757-200)with three seats on either side of the isle. The three seats allow enough overhead bin depth to just accomodate this bag wheels-out.
