I love the backpack, and how everything fits into it. It was excellent rolling around the streets of NYC. My only problem was that it said it was airline sized, but the wheel base kept it from fitting in the overhead, or easily under the seat.

I ordered this backpack as a gift so I can't comment on how it will wear, but I can comment on how nicely it looks and how well it is made. The confusing part is that label says for up to 15" laptops, but my 17" Dell laptop fits just right in and it seems to feel nicely while on the back. The padding adds a lot of comfort too. Very NICE looking, has lots of features that add on value. For example, the pocket for IPod or phone or whatever you prefer to listen to has a convenient slide-through pocket which allows you to nicely organize your earphone cables. Overall I'm pleased with the quality and look of this backpack and definitelly recommend it to anyone looking.

Very confortable shoulder straps and a large main compartment. Even loaded with 20 pounds of gear was very gentle on the shoulders and back.
Holds a 17'' laptop and much more. If totally loaded won't fit under a seat in a plane.
Great look, low profile backpack (no metal handle like other Victorinox backpacks).
I am very satisfied with my purchase!

SwissGear Computer Messenger Bag (Black) Review

This bag is wonderful for those who need to carry a lot of things with their laptop. You can tell this has Swiss Army DNA. A security strap holds the computer securely inside and a large pocket holds power cords or accessories. An outside pocket has spots for drives, disks or other needs.
Good to carry things, but not so bulky that you can't carry it.

Moonsus Signature Computer Backpack Review

Moonsus Signature Computer Backpack
Average Reviews:

This is a nice backpack! I got it b/c I was looking for a bag to carry my laptop but most computer bags are either designed for men, are huge, or are just plain ugly. Well not this bag! This backpack is small, sexy, feminine, and performs well. It's pricey, I know. But its worth it. I am impressed with the attention to detail and I get a lot of complements on this bag. It's unusual shape and good looks will make you stand out from the crowd. In short, I love this bag. It fits my 15 inch macbook pro well. (The computer pocket is padded.) I also carry some notebooks in the main compartment. And there's some special pockets for my wallet and cell phone in the main compartment too. Those pockets are nice b/c I always know exactly where my stuff is and I don't have to go fishing for it when my phone is ringing. The little compartment is roomy so I carry my charger, pencil case, glasses, keys, ipod, etc. Well, in short- I love my bag and I highly recommend it!

Victorinox Swiss Army Architecture 2.0 Big Ben Laptop Pack Review

Victorinox Swiss Army Architecture 2.0 Big Ben Laptop Pack
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I travel a lot for work, I bounce between two offices when I'm not traveling, and I always have at least one laptop with me (and frequently two, plus a couple external drives and a kit of cables and adapters not to mention all the usual stuff: phone, ipod, book, knitting project, notebook, toiletries, travel mug, sometimes cameras and video gear). I got this backpack a few months ago, and it's been a major upgrade in terms of keeping my stuff organized. Though it's not designed for cameras per se, it's padded enough that I'm fine letting my consumer-level video camera kick around (pros would NOT want that, tho). There are enough but not too many pockets, I can easily carry 2 laptops when I need to, and could even squeeze in a change of clothes for an overnight trip. It's quite comfortable to carry, too, and it's not so sporty and macho that it looks dorky on a woman in a work environment. The only complaint I have (and it is annoying) is that it tips forward rather than sitting flat when you plunk it on the floor.

Great quality and build. The straps, material, zippers and padding are very high quality. However, it doesn't fit HP 15.4 laptops or thicker laptops. It would fit 15.4" thin laptops. Overall great business/casual laptop with great ergonomics and durability.

I bought this backpack for school and upon receipt realized that, yes, it is sturdy and well built for carrying a leptop, but not large enough to carry any books with the laptop. I like the bag overall and have resorted to carrying my books in my arms instead of ina bag. If you don't have a need to carry around much else than your laptop, a folder, and a notebook, this bag is perfect. If you need to carry your books around keep searching.

SwissGear Laptop Backpack - Blue/ Silver Review

SwissGear Laptop Backpack - Blue/ Silver
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Basic run-down... This backpack is well-constructed, very sturdy, and comfortable to use. I like cool colors, so I find the color scheme attractive and sufficiently low-key. The straps are wide near the top and impressively padded. Even when loaded to capacity (which is deceptively large-- this backpack is huge!), it exerts minimal pressure on my shoulders. The back is also heavily padded and purportedly better ventilated, but it doesn't mean you won't sweat like crazy on a hot, humid day. (: Despite the daily abuse I inflict upon it, the backpack shows very little wear.
And... Swiss Gear does NOT advertise this as waterproof or -resistant, and even goes as far to say "spot-cleaning only." But between you and me... (: I've gotten caught in the rain--and I'm talking 100% drenched to the skin-- several times. The backpack is indeed quite water-resistant. The top edges of my notebooks in the main zipper got a bit damp, as did the objects in the frontmost pocket, but everything else (including my computer) stayed relatively safe and dry.
As a college student, I carry my new lightweight laptop everywhere I go-- it's my baby. (: So I wanted to keep it safe from spiral-bound books and other scary scratchy things. This backpack has a laptop pouch in the main compartment plenty big enough for my 13" computer. There's a velcro strap for added security. I never use it, however, as my computer stays put and is still in perfect condition. I also love the included key fob. I added it to my keychain, and now I always know where my keys are-- no digging through a stuffed bag. (: The actual clip mechanism also shows no sign of wear-- my bike lock's key is nearly destroyed, but the backpack clip looks perfect. (Another testament to Swiss Gear's quality. They don't cut corners anywhere!)
I also carry a menagerie of pens, pencils, and highlighters in the organizer pocket. My only complaint here is that writing utensils don't like to stay in their holders unless they're clipped in. As a result, my pens and pencils tend to collect in the largest pocket, and I have to dig around for the one I need. It helps to put two pens in the same holder, but again, they eventually migrate to the big pocket. (: Another thing I like is the "hidden" zipper compartment on the front of the backpack. In theory, it's a great place to put things like your wallet, checkbook, etc. to hide them from pickpockets, but if your entire backpack is stolen, it's safe to assume you won't see these things again. (: So this is a pretty neutral feature, I suppose.
This backpack has two drawstring-style drink holders. I usually carry a large, top-heavy container. I'm paranoid and frequently check to make sure I've still got it, but I have yet to see it fall out. As an extra precaution, I'd pull the drawstring tight. (:
And now... The bad. I can only think of a quote from A Very Potter Musical:
"You know who I think is the ugliest girl in school? That Hermione Granger. You know what I'd give her on a scale of 1 to 10-- where 1 would be the ugliest and 10 is pretty? I would give her... an 8. ...8.5... NOT over a 9.8. Because there is always room for improvement."
1) The backpack is really front-heavy when sitting on the ground. If I don't prop it up against something, it will invariably fall over and usually toss my bottle from the drinkholder for good measure.
2) If I have a cold drink in the drinkholder, it will soak the bottom corner of the backpack with condensation. The drinkholders could be better insulated, if only to prevent this.
3) The pen/pencil holders could be longer or more elastic, so that they have more of a grip.
And that's about it! I was a little leery of the price tag when I bought this backpack, but I definitely don't regret it. This is a incredibly high-quality product worth every penny. I don't think you'll be sorry. (:
P.S.: Apologies if this isn't as coherent as it could be; I tried to edit, but you know.. This is one of my no-brain days. (;

Manhattan Portage Commuter Laptop Bag with 17- Inch Laptop Sleeve Review

Manhattan Portage Commuter Laptop Bag with 17- Inch Laptop Sleeve
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have been using my bag for 3 weeks now and so far so good. Pro's - two main pockets with medium cushion for the computer, slot for notebook and a roomy pouch for cords, pens, lunch, water bottle, etc. I find that I can stuff this bag and then carry it on my back. Cons - I mention that it's a little pricey because the top handle and strap are poor quality and given the simplicity of the design and features I would expect the price point to be ~$75. I'm fine with the purchase and I like the fact that it's not the same bag that everyone is carrying.

The Manhattan Portage Commuter laptop bag lets you carry your gear and notebook computer in three different ways, depending on your mood. If you're taking a quick stroll from the car to the office, you can carry the bag as a briefcase. If you'll be walking several blocks, you can throw it over your shoulder like a messenger bag. And if you're expecting to walk long distances, you can undo the hideaway straps and convert the Commuter into a comfortable backpack. It's the perfect bag for people who take their laptops everywhere but just want a single versatile tote.
The Commuter is made of high-quality Cordura Plus nylon fabric, a durable, long-lasting material that holds up to heavy use through the years. It's also notably spacious at 700 cubic inches, with a padded laptop sleeve that accommodates screens as large as 17 inches and two exterior zippered pockets. And thanks to the double-buckle closure and water-resistant coating, the bag even stands up to inclement weather. The Commuter measures 14.5 by 12 by 4 inches (W x H x D), weighs 2 pounds, and carries a limited lifetime warranty.
About Manhattan Portage There was a simple philosophy that Manhattan Portage set out to achieve back in 1983: "A Bag For Everyone." And twenty-five years later it is certainly ringing true. From Montreal to Melbourne, Osaka to Oslo, and Stockholm to San Francisco, Manhattan Portage's line of bags are indeed everywhere. Despite their sweeping global popularity, Manhattan Portage remains loyal to their NYC roots. This 25-year lifespan in the volatile fashion world, and in a town that embraces the designer-of-the-moment but does not suffer has-beens, is no small feat. Manhattan Portage has been able to avoid becoming another fleeting fad and withstand the test of time because their bags do.
By innovating and expanding their line to accommodate the range of uses their bag owners' demand, the Manhattan Portage line has developed to serve all walks and runs of urban life. Whether you are a DJ transporting your spinning equipment, a cell phone-toting investment banker, a starving student hauling pricey textbooks, or a messenger racing to deliver documents on time, Manhattan Portage has a style for you. (Even if, like many New Yorkers, you fit into two or more of these categories!)
With their red logo, 1000 denier Cordura nylon, Delrin hardware, and a style selection including laptop bags, messenger bags, backpacks, and more, Manhattan Portage bags don't hide and won't be going away any time soon. The emergence of competitors and innumerable imitators hasn't fazed them, but rather left Manhattan Portage celebrating this ultimate sign of trend triumph. Although Manhattan Portage has received press in The New York Times, People, Newsweek, and the Village Voice, their media coverage is not what has fueled their resounding success. It is their versatility, durability, and adaptability that has allowed them to survive the ebb and flow of mercurial fashion tides.

I bought this pack over a year ago on Amazon for $20 (last one in stock). It has held up well and shows no sign of slowing down. I carry my laptop plus files and literature with me. I has plenty of pockets for Water, Ipods, keys, business cards, pens, whatever you wish to carry. At the time, I would not have paid over $50 for this pack, but even at that price it is worth it in my opinion.

Slappa SL-LP-26 Velocity MATRIX Backpack/Laptop Bag (Black) Review

Slappa SL-LP-26 Velocity MATRIX Backpack/Laptop Bag (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I've been scouring the net for over a year now looking for any and everything that would comfortably fit my Dell XPS M1730 which is a monster of a laptop. The Dell bag that is offered is far from flattering and left a lot to be desired. I went through a Kensington and Sharper Image rolling case that couldn't actually fit the computer in the protective sleeve but still offered a decent solution by just placing the laptop in that section of the bag. Well, after buying this bag I can comfortably say I will NEVER buy a rolling laptop bag every again. This not only has plenty of room for my laptop in it's specified area but also the massive power brick. It has a multitude of pockets and zippered pouches to put plenty of stuff in.
Because it isn't ideally suited for business travel (although that's what I use it for) everything inside is cloth pockets except for the back compartment that could probably fit 3 beers and ice with the lining it provides. But the cloth is actually a positive because this is the lowest profile backpack I have ever seen anywhere. I just took my first business trip with it and two people on the plane commented on how low profile it was and how sharp it looked even with the crazy pattern. It even comes with a smart phone holder on one of the straps.
It is also extremely comfortable to wear and your back doesn't get sweaty like a bunch of other backpacks probably do.
Overall this was the best money I've spent on a computer bag and I highly recommend if you have a monster laptop or just want a really cool bag then you consider this one. Everything is high quality from the zippers to the cloth inside. I think this will hold up for years.
BTW, the one I ordered was for the 17", they do have a model for 15" but this isn't it. This bag is highly worth it.
