Heys USA ePac02 Rolling Laptop Backpack Review

I love the backpack, and how everything fits into it. It was excellent rolling around the streets of NYC. My only problem was that it said it was airline sized, but the wheel base kept it from fitting in the overhead, or easily under the seat.

SwissGear SA1275 Black with Red Accents Backpack Review

SwissGear SA1275 Black with Red Accents Backpack
Average Reviews:

I ordered this backpack as a gift so I can't comment on how it will wear, but I can comment on how nicely it looks and how well it is made. The confusing part is that label says for up to 15" laptops, but my 17" Dell laptop fits just right in and it seems to feel nicely while on the back. The padding adds a lot of comfort too. Very NICE looking, has lots of features that add on value. For example, the pocket for IPod or phone or whatever you prefer to listen to has a convenient slide-through pocket which allows you to nicely organize your earphone cables. Overall I'm pleased with the quality and look of this backpack and definitelly recommend it to anyone looking.

Victorinox Altmont Sardona CLOSEOUT Review

Very confortable shoulder straps and a large main compartment. Even loaded with 20 pounds of gear was very gentle on the shoulders and back.
Holds a 17'' laptop and much more. If totally loaded won't fit under a seat in a plane.
Great look, low profile backpack (no metal handle like other Victorinox backpacks).
I am very satisfied with my purchase!

McKlein USA R Series Division Nylon 17" Detachable - Wheeled Laptop Backpack Review

McKlein USA R Series Division Nylon 17 Detachable - Wheeled Laptop Backpack
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Daily Use: I am generally pleased with this product. I have been using it to transport my 17" laptop back and forth to work via the train and it is holding up well. The zippers in the back that connect the wheeled portion to the backpack portion are sometimes a bit difficult to work with and don't easily tuck out of view but they work. My only complaint is that within 3 days of using the bag, it shifted slightly. What I mean is, when it first arrived, it sat up straight and tall and the handle when fully extended stretched perpendicular to the ceiling. Now it slants back a bit and doesn't stand up straight anymore but it does not cause the bag to fall over.
Airline Travel: I love that I can walk through the airplane and not bump anyone (it is vertical rather than horizontal) and it fits in the overhead bins very neatly. Removal of the laptop for security checks goes very smoothly and if I don't put too much in the bag, it doesn't get too heavy to lift when necessary.
Internal Pockets: Others don't like the pocket arrangement but for me it is fine. I am able to carry everything I need and it forces me to be more mindful about what I need to take with me (which we should all do anyway). Besides, as noted, if I put too much in it, I can't lift it when I need to.
I haven't been using it very long but if I change my mind on any of this, I will post another review.

Victorinox Swiss Army Architecture 2.0 Big Ben Laptop Pack Review

Victorinox Swiss Army Architecture 2.0 Big Ben Laptop Pack
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I travel a lot for work, I bounce between two offices when I'm not traveling, and I always have at least one laptop with me (and frequently two, plus a couple external drives and a kit of cables and adapters not to mention all the usual stuff: phone, ipod, book, knitting project, notebook, toiletries, travel mug, sometimes cameras and video gear). I got this backpack a few months ago, and it's been a major upgrade in terms of keeping my stuff organized. Though it's not designed for cameras per se, it's padded enough that I'm fine letting my consumer-level video camera kick around (pros would NOT want that, tho). There are enough but not too many pockets, I can easily carry 2 laptops when I need to, and could even squeeze in a change of clothes for an overnight trip. It's quite comfortable to carry, too, and it's not so sporty and macho that it looks dorky on a woman in a work environment. The only complaint I have (and it is annoying) is that it tips forward rather than sitting flat when you plunk it on the floor.

The backpack looks and feel a lot better than the picture on Amazon. Two large compartments with an inside pocket with velcro flap for a laptop, 1 small front pocket, and 2 smaller side pockets. Overall it's an excellent backpack for traveler, plus it's a Samsonite. I would recommend it to anyone.

SwissGear Laptop Backpack - Blue/ Silver Review

SwissGear Laptop Backpack - Blue/ Silver
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Basic run-down... This backpack is well-constructed, very sturdy, and comfortable to use. I like cool colors, so I find the color scheme attractive and sufficiently low-key. The straps are wide near the top and impressively padded. Even when loaded to capacity (which is deceptively large-- this backpack is huge!), it exerts minimal pressure on my shoulders. The back is also heavily padded and purportedly better ventilated, but it doesn't mean you won't sweat like crazy on a hot, humid day. (: Despite the daily abuse I inflict upon it, the backpack shows very little wear.
And... Swiss Gear does NOT advertise this as waterproof or -resistant, and even goes as far to say "spot-cleaning only." But between you and me... (: I've gotten caught in the rain--and I'm talking 100% drenched to the skin-- several times. The backpack is indeed quite water-resistant. The top edges of my notebooks in the main zipper got a bit damp, as did the objects in the frontmost pocket, but everything else (including my computer) stayed relatively safe and dry.
As a college student, I carry my new lightweight laptop everywhere I go-- it's my baby. (: So I wanted to keep it safe from spiral-bound books and other scary scratchy things. This backpack has a laptop pouch in the main compartment plenty big enough for my 13" computer. There's a velcro strap for added security. I never use it, however, as my computer stays put and is still in perfect condition. I also love the included key fob. I added it to my keychain, and now I always know where my keys are-- no digging through a stuffed bag. (: The actual clip mechanism also shows no sign of wear-- my bike lock's key is nearly destroyed, but the backpack clip looks perfect. (Another testament to Swiss Gear's quality. They don't cut corners anywhere!)
I also carry a menagerie of pens, pencils, and highlighters in the organizer pocket. My only complaint here is that writing utensils don't like to stay in their holders unless they're clipped in. As a result, my pens and pencils tend to collect in the largest pocket, and I have to dig around for the one I need. It helps to put two pens in the same holder, but again, they eventually migrate to the big pocket. (: Another thing I like is the "hidden" zipper compartment on the front of the backpack. In theory, it's a great place to put things like your wallet, checkbook, etc. to hide them from pickpockets, but if your entire backpack is stolen, it's safe to assume you won't see these things again. (: So this is a pretty neutral feature, I suppose.
This backpack has two drawstring-style drink holders. I usually carry a large, top-heavy container. I'm paranoid and frequently check to make sure I've still got it, but I have yet to see it fall out. As an extra precaution, I'd pull the drawstring tight. (:
And now... The bad. I can only think of a quote from A Very Potter Musical:
"You know who I think is the ugliest girl in school? That Hermione Granger. You know what I'd give her on a scale of 1 to 10-- where 1 would be the ugliest and 10 is pretty? I would give her... an 8. ...8.5... NOT over a 9.8. Because there is always room for improvement."
1) The backpack is really front-heavy when sitting on the ground. If I don't prop it up against something, it will invariably fall over and usually toss my bottle from the drinkholder for good measure.
2) If I have a cold drink in the drinkholder, it will soak the bottom corner of the backpack with condensation. The drinkholders could be better insulated, if only to prevent this.
3) The pen/pencil holders could be longer or more elastic, so that they have more of a grip.
And that's about it! I was a little leery of the price tag when I bought this backpack, but I definitely don't regret it. This is a incredibly high-quality product worth every penny. I don't think you'll be sorry. (:
P.S.: Apologies if this isn't as coherent as it could be; I tried to edit, but you know.. This is one of my no-brain days. (;

Swiss Gear MYTHOS Computer Backpack (Blue) Review

Swiss Gear MYTHOS Computer Backpack (Blue)
Average Reviews:

I bought this pack over a year ago on Amazon for $20 (last one in stock). It has held up well and shows no sign of slowing down. I carry my laptop plus files and literature with me. I has plenty of pockets for Water, Ipods, keys, business cards, pens, whatever you wish to carry. At the time, I would not have paid over $50 for this pack, but even at that price it is worth it in my opinion.

Full Speed Shine Backpack Review

Full Speed Shine Backpack
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I love this pack!
+ It has a very large capacity, but the cinch straps on the side allow you to "collapse" the main compartment when you don't need as much room.
+ The pack has a great variety of zippered pouches. I'm able to put all of my "stuff" into separate pockets and easily find what I need when I need it, as opposed to having to dig through stuff that's all jumbled in a few pockets. The variety of compartments is very handy.
+ I like the build quality and the comfort of the straps and the padded mesh fabric on the back side.
+ It's a great value for the price. I've seen much more expensive bags that weren't as well designed or built.
+ The basic black styling makes the pack usable for business.
So far, I've discovered only two things that could be improved:
- The main compartment -- the one designed to hold papers -- is quite large and the dividers in that compartment only fill about the back third of the compartment. I can't figure out the reason for the strange design. It seems like the dividers should be evenly spaced across the compartment. I almost dropped the rating to four stars over this, but the bag has so many other features I love that I still gave it five stars overall. (Still, if someone from the manufacturer reads this review, please put more sensible dividers in the next version -- it would improve the functionality for business people.)
- The zipper opening on the papers compartment tapers just enough at the top that it makes more sense to put folders in vertically. Most people probably store papers in a backpack this way anyway, but I've always been a horizontal packer.
Both these points are nits, though. This is by far and away the most functional and comfortable business/laptop backpack I've found. Excellent product, great value. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Travelon Checkpoint Friendly Backpack Review

Travelon Checkpoint Friendly Backpack
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Original Review: I looked at a lot of checkpoint friendly options before choosing this one. I do not regret my choice even though it could be improved upon. The slide in and out option for the laptop works and seems easier to me than splitting a whole backpack in half. No problems at security points in the US and international. It seems there should be more space INSIDE the bag and less in the laptop compartment. You can slide books or folders in the pocket with the laptop sleeve but then it is harder to remove and insert the laptop in security. The front has great organization pockets. I didn't want a large bag and this is small. Professional enough appearance I would carry it to work yet would also take it out while casually dressed. It's a versatile bag and definitely made checkpoints a little easier.
Revision: I have completely regretted this purchase as it keeps falling apart! First the water bottle compartment, then the main straps, I've had multiple repairs trying to keep this one alive. THat combine with the extra space int he laptop compartment and lack of space elsewhere, and I am already looking for a replacement.

This is a very convenient briefcase, with lots of storage space, for almost everything (laptop, folders, books, gadgets, docs etc.) You can even use it for a short travel. But this means that it is a big bag, a heavy one and to be honest a bit ugly.
In general is a very practical bag, that allows to carry almost everything you need (and may not need). If it lasts for long it will be a good purchase.

SOLO Sterling Collection Laptop Backpack, CheckFast Airport Security-Friendly, Holds Notebook Computer up to 16 Inches, Black, CLA703-4
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I saw this in a big chain store and liked the way it looked so decided to check whether Amazon carried it and didn't hesitate to buy it when I saw it here. At that time, I purchased the product directly from Amazon. I do a lot of walking and had been carrying my laptop in a big old daypack which didn't carry the weight very well. I was looking at new daypacks and laptop sleeves and found this product which combined both.
The removable sleeve is a perfect fit for my 15.6" Toshiba and I've walked a couple miles at a time with it in this pack and felt no strain from the weight--the pack keeps the laptop close against your back, but the sleeve, back of the pack, and shoulder straps are all well padded. The pack looks good in black with a touch of grey and feels quite durable to me.
In addition to the laptop compartment, which has some leftover room to fit in magazines or papers, there are six more zippered compartments reachable from the outside of the pack, two large, one medium, and three small. The second largest compartment has a non-removable divider for most of its height, and the next largest has more interior compartments and holders. You can either be very organized with this pack, or you might forget which section you put items in.
I do wish the bag were a little larger, but that's only because I'm in the habit of using my daypack to go grocery shopping. This has ample room for anyone using it for travel or school, and saved me a lot of money over the other options I was considering.
