(More customer reviews)My Harveys Treecycle Messenger just delivered yesterday and I love it! I had it delivered to work and transfered my purse contents immediately. The colors are great and the bag is very sturdy. It's more versatile than I thought when I ordered it, too. You can use it as a messenger (great for slinging across your body for shopping, etc.) or you can tighten up the seatbelt strap to make a shorter handle for a larger shoulder bag look (which will work well when I need to look a little more polished). I'm so glad I got this and have already warned my husband I want a second one! (He thinks it's a really cool bag, too.)

Quixote Horseshoe Pillow - Goose Down Review

It scrunches down to not much larger than my previous pillows but gives such nicer support. I travel all over the world and this pillow works as a lumbar, neck and even bed pillow. I bought this backpack last December, after looking for a "checkpoint friendly" backpack for a while. I previously had a Brenthaven backpack for my MacBook Pro 15", but having to take it out every time I go through security was starting to be a pain (I travel a lot). One of the reasons that made me pick this one was their innovative design on how it opens so that you can take it through security. Most of the other checkpoint-friendly backpacks open from the top, so that you can't carry it while it's open. The Skooba backpack lets you pick it right after it has been scanned and continue with your travel. The other reason was that they seemed to have designed the compartments just for the traveler, with a special place to put your plane tickets and/or passport, a clear plastic bag that you can take out, etc.
After using it for a while I can say that the backpack works as advertised, with some caveats. You can pick the backpack right away after it has gone through the x-ray machine, but you'll probably want to close it before actually wearing it, since it can feel strange to have the backpack exterior bouncing. This might be because I actually carry a lot of things in the front, like books, power adapters, external hard drives, etc. so your mileage may vary. The briefcase version has a strap that you can use to attach it to you carry-on handle, but this one doesn't. I know some backpacks include this kind of strap, and sometimes you just want to roll your stuff around. Also, the straps don't feel as comfortable as my previous backpack. I can't really pinpoint what the problem is, but they just feel different.
Overall I like this backpack, and it has definitely saved me some time going through security. I've been using backpacks to carry my laptop for quite a while, so I didn't think about the briefcase version, but if I had to buy one again, I might give the briefcase version a chance.

Mobile Edge MESFMB ScanFast Messenger Bag (Black) Review

(More customer reviews)I purchased this bag about six weeks ago. I thought since I travel every week, it would be a time and hassle saver going through security. It does, indeed, live up to their promise in that aspect.
A few weeks after I purchased it, one of the seams started to rip open. I was shocked, being that it was only 2 weeks old. Fortunely I was in Anaheim, CA on business and I went to the factory, direct. They were very nice and gave me a replacement bag. Again, a nice endorsement for the product.
The only issue is this; The latch points for the shoulder strap are a faulty design. If the strap gets twisted, and it does often during travel, the latch pops open and the bag goes crashing to the floor with all of your items, including your laptop, inside. This has happened three times in the last few weeks. My laptop was cosmetically damaged, but is still functional.
I have recently written to the company to see if there is a solution. If they come up with an acceptable fix, i would no doubt give this product a glowing 5 star review.
I guess we will see.

Amaro 61007 Small Century Messenger Bag - Black Review

(More customer reviews)This is a decent messenger/day trip bag. It has a zipper at the top of the flap, making the flap a pocket and the same on the back of the bag. These are full sized and the only two zippered pockets accessible from the outside. as well there is a zippered "pouch" pocket under the flap on the front of the main compartment. This is where there are small organizer slots for small items (credit cards) and 3 or so pens. No clip for holding keys. The main compartment is zippered across the top and has another zippered "slot" on the inside back of the main compartment. It runs the whole width of the bag and most of the height of the inside. I will keep a small internet tablet (7" screen) in it but it isn't appropriate for even a netbook, I don't think. The zipper closing the main compartment requires both hands to open and close (minor issue). On the outside ends are a couple of pockets. One is canvas with a Velcro closure cover and the other is a small "stretch net" suitable for a small umbrella or a very small water bottle. The shoulder strap is wide and adjustable but doesn't swivel...it is sewn into the bag at end. The main flap cover is held closed by one plastic snap buckle....which is ok but I hope the flap lays flat during it's life. There is no handle across the top for easy grabbing, I'm going to add a simple one by having my seamstress sew a 1 inch wide handle of the same material the strap is made of. It will be attached at the top of the back panel as not to put pressure on the flap and provide better balance. There's about a 1 inch area that doesn't affect any of the pockets where it can be attached. I've missed having a handle. I'll also have a key clip added somewhere on the inside of the "pouch" pocket where the organizer is located.
All-in-all it is a decent bag which will hold enough stuff. I was able to comfortably get my mother's 11.6" screen (with extended battery) netbook into the main compartment (not in the inside back zippered slot) and there was plenty of room for computer accessories and a couple of small books. No padding. I really think that a price of $16.99 +/- is fair but anything much more is overpriced, in my opinion.

Targus Commuter Leather Case Designed to Protect 17-Inch Laptops TET028US (Black) Review

(More customer reviews)It was as if they custom designed this case to be a snug fit for my HP 17.3 Inch laptop computer. The main reason I purchased this case over the cheaper $53 case was because the picture showed the case strap for it to safely ride on the top of my carry-on luggage. My luggage only has a single center extension handle, but this case still rides on it fairly well unless I bump into something. But even so, it prevents it from hitting the floor. A dual extension handle like in the photo is highly desirable. There is a shoulder strap included with a broad thin sliding shoulder pad for improved comfort.
Since my laptop computer is such a tight fit, the only place to put the mouse, charger and electrical cord is in the section for the pens. They do fit, but not all that well. I do like the magnetic flap on the outside. I put my passport and other critical paperwork in that section. I am in China right now, so all I have is A4 sized paper (8.27 x 11.69 inches) to slide into the flap section and it fits well. Regular 8.5 X 11 inch paper will probably fit fine, but it might be a rather tight fit on width. Of course, paper length is no problem. The handles are a comfortable grip, but you will most likely be using the shoulder strap or have it riding on your luggage extended handle.
I've field tested it on a trip from Houston to Shanghai, and I am quite pleased with this purchase thus far.
