This bag is the bomb. It is so rugged that you will pass it on to your grandkids. Its design is so classic that it will never go out of style or, for that matter, become obviously fashionable. It looks like something a World War II British spy might have carried behind French lines.
This model is made for notebook computers. It has two outside pocket that are easy to get to and big enough for all of your the cables, chargers, etc. The inside easily holds a 15" laptop with a slipcase on, a pile of files, business cards, pens, etc. Your contents are protected from wind, rain, or stray AK47 rounds by some serious rawhide. This is not Napa leather -- more like Houston. It is oil tanned, full grain steer hide. Think about fantastic leather hiking boots or a baseball glove that took a year to break in and you get the idea.
This bag is exceedingly airport friendly. At a checkpoint, it opens easily with a clip that takes one hand (the buckles are purely decorative). Also, Korchmar included a strap on the back that lets you toss the case over the handle of your wheelaway bag. When you have 7 minutes to cover a half mile at O'Hare, you won't have a swinging shoulder bag to slow you down.
This is one very well made case. The buckles take on a nice patina, the leather carrying strap could bridle a thoroughbred, and the handle darkens but does not dry out. Even when scratched up, a quick shot of your favorite leather treatment and you are good to go. My bag truly looks better now than when I bought it. The gold nylon lining looks indestructible and is colorful enough that you can find things easily.
CONS
Quality bags are not cheap. Paying for this is slightly painful, but if its a case you will use daily, it may be worth it.
