(More customer reviews)The crossed straps at the bottom of this computer sleeve are remarkably strong. You can't store small things in this because it isn't a bag, but it stands up on its own, even when empty, and can be used to put files in as well. Think of its uses when you need to carry a computer and some files to a meeting or on an airplane and you get an idea of how handy it really can be.
Victorinox also sells a sturdy padded strap that goes with this to convert it into sort of a messenger bag in a snap. The sleeve itself is padded heavily enough to alleviate worries about safe transport of your laptop.

Brenthaven 2174101 Eclipse Sleeve II for 15.4" Notebooks (Black) Review

(More customer reviews)I was looking for a slim notebook case for either carrying the notebook alone, or for slipping it into a suitcase for travel. By slim, I mean minimal bulk and weight for traveling light. This one works well for me. It fits my Dell Inspiron 1420 just right, not tight. It is well padded on all sides, better than most sleeves I've seen. It has a nice, streamlined look. The open pouch on one side could, in a pinch, be used to carry a few small accessories (power supply and mouse, for example), but don't mistake this for a full size carry-case; if I had needed more space, I would have chosen the Brenthaven Prolite II.

Good material and craftsmanship. Basically you get what you pay for.
One star knocked off because it was a little too big width-wise for my 15.4" Macbook Pro. For those with my type of laptop: there is almost 2 inches leftover, which makes handling a little loose and slippery.

Golla METRO black 2010 Sleeve 17.3-Inch Review

(More customer reviews)I checked out several other sleeves including the Sumdex Aircube, Lowe Pro, and countless other ones I saw at Office Depot, Best Buy, Frye's, and Staples. This sleeve, had the snuggest fit for my Dell Studio 17 (I bought my Dell in May 2010; exact model is the Dell Studio 17/1747). I use the sleeve to carry my laptop in my Timbuk2 messenger bag. If you also own a Dell Studio 17, and you're looking for a sleeve that will hold the Dell Studio 17/1747, I definitely recommend the Golla Metro 17.3 for it! The size of the sleeve seems to be made to custom fit the Studio 17. Unfortunately, since similarly sized laptops have differing dimensions between makers, I can't really attest to how well fitted the Golla METRO 17.3" is to other 17" WS laptops out there. Also, if you're looking for something rugged and more robust than a simple well-padded sleeve, this isn't the right product for you. A thing I liked about the Golla design is that the zipper is built on the edge of the sleeve, versus in the center splitting the top and bottom halves. This design I believe prevents the interior side of the zipper from scratching the laptop. I hope this helps someone with the same laptop as me.

(More customer reviews)I bought this 17" Solo TCB102-4 sleeve for my 17" Sony VAIO. I checked the dimensions given by the manufacturer very carefully not only on Amazon but also on other on-line stores as well before ordering to make sure it would fit my laptop. Even though it was said as 12.5 x 17.2 x 0.5 and my VAIO is only 11.80 x 16.40, it was too small for the laptop (both sides). As another reviewer said, I also think it would be great for the 16" laptops but not for 17" ones. I just save it in case I might buy a 16" laptop some time in the future and hopefully I would be able to use it for a 16" laptop. At under $20 shipped, there is no point to return it. I just want to let you folks know so you won't have to waste your money to buy it for your 17" laptops.

* Very nicely designed case for the 11 inch mac book air.
* Small enough to fit easily into a backpack but large enough (and has sturdy handles) to carry around on its own.
* Offers a good deal of padding (more padding than I expected, considering that it's so small).
* Subtle, classy design - you can't really see it in the Amazon image but there's a bit of a floral pattern running across the front of the case.
An all around good mac book air case and would probably work well with other similarly-sized laptops and netbooks.
