(More customer reviews)I purchased this bag for my wife to take with her on a trip to Europe. She's frequently concerned about theft, pickpockets, etc., so the security features of this bag are a great relief to her. (We also are using the PacSafe CarrySafe 100 camera strap, and she has a PacSafe purse.) She has back issues so small and light are very important to her.
We have a large camera bag at home for all the various cameras and parts we own. This is NOT the bag you want if you need to carry the kitchen sink with you to cover all possibilities.
That said, this bag does nicely to carry our Nikon D90 with both the 18-55mm lens and our 70-300 lens. It's a little tight on the side where the other lens is, and the pacsafe camera strap is a minor hassle since it does not lay as flat as a regular cloth one would, but that's a small price to pay for peace of mind. Instead of the extra lens, a small(ish) flash could probably fit in the same space, perhaps better than the larger lens (I don't think a big diffuser will fit, however). There is plenty of room in the case's front pouch for an extra battery, cleaning cloth, extra memory cards, IR remote and perhaps a couple of filters. You won't want to carry the AC charger in this case, however. No need to haul that around Paris while shooting, anyway... leave it in the hotel.
The bag looks a lot like a purse (I'll call it a small messenger bag when I carry it LOL). It doesn't scream NIKON or CANON or SONY in bright "steal me!" letters. It's subtle and low-key... perfect for it's intended use.
Construction is excellent. The wire "lock" that locks the zippers seems effective, but don't count on it, and it's a pain to set up. Any thief who is really after it will get it anyway. And any bag that closes with a plastic zipper is completely vulnerable to any ballpoint pen anyway, and this is no exception. PacSafe should consider other options, frankly.
As a camera bag, this is simply a nice, simple, small camera bag. It has the added offer of good protection against pickpockets and casual opportunistic theft... but nothing will stop a determined thief. If you'd like the extra peace of mind, however, and a nice camera bag to boot, this bag is well worth the price.
