Pelican 1495 CC1 Deluxe Notebook Computer Case (Black) Review

Fantastic case. Ordered for son deployed in Afghanistan. First computer ruined due to the fine sand and silt of the area but this case will prevent any issues of that nature. Well built, once the new combination lock is entered it opens easily. Has weight to it but to be expected considering the durability and impact resistance. The price was very reasonable as well. The only thing that could possibly make it better would be wheels (or someone to carry it for you :-D)

I have a notebook that has a 14.1" screen. It fits perfectly into the case. There is enough room for a spare 9-cell battery, network cables and the AC adapter. If you do not mind carrying some extra weight for good protection of your computer, I would highly recommend this carrying case. It comes with a should strap. The product is very well made. I love it.

Pelican 1506TSA Pelilock 1506 TSA Approved Review

TSA seems to like this lock a little too much.
I bought this excellent lock for a pistol case, and it alway performed beautifully. I borrowed it to use for my suitcase when flying cross-country, and was able to use it in fairly low light.
Unfortunately, it was not on my suitcase when I received my bags at my destination. I can't imagine this lock ever breaking, so I can only surmise that someone in TSA liked it so much that they decided to take it for themselves! It's a rather backhanded endorsement, but I definitely plan to buy PeliLocks again.

Pelican 1510LOC Laptop Overnight Case - Notebook carrying case - black Review

Pelican 1510LOC Laptop Overnight Case - Notebook carrying case - black

My first experience with a Pelican case was a smaller version with pick and pluck foam that I use for a gun case. I liked it - a lot - so when it came time to get an 'occasional' case, this seemed to fit the ticket. I needed something that I could take onboard as a carry-on, but that I could also put in checked baggage if I needed to. Most rollaboards are light but flimsy and would suffer a horrible fate at the hands of typical luggage handlers. Not so with the Pelican case. This thing is seriously tough. The neoprene liner is well worth it with the double zips to keep all your personal effects nicely in place, and the utility bag and laptop bag fit perfectly in the lid. They're held in with velcro and when removed, can be stuck to each other, acting as a laptop pouch (but without its own handle).
The Pelican case's toughness is it's biggest plus point, but could also be a big minus if you're not strong. Fully packed with a laptop, power supply, cables and five days of clothes and a wash kit, this thing tips the scales at about 27lbs. That's well within the limit for checked luggage but if you pack it this full, you'll need some heft to get it into the overhead bins onboard.
Is it worth it? Absolutely. Sure it's hefty but that's because of its durability. In the last year, mine's been round the world with me (literally) twice, both onboard and in checked baggage. Whilst idly staring out the window, I actually saw my case fall off the loading conveyor at Dallas DFW a few months ago - probably an 8ft drop to the concrete. Sure it's scuffed but the hinges are in perfect condition, as are the clasps and seals. The handles show no sign of damage or potential detachment.
As one reviewer said, the interior space does seem smaller than you might expect, but pack smartly and it will be no problem.
