(More customer reviews)I am a frequent air traveler and almost always carry on my luggage. So the most important things for me for a carry-on bag are:
(1) Ability for it into various configurations of airplane overhead compartments. This is very important to get right and this one fits perfectly going "straight in" to overheads. This is what I was was most concerned about when getting this piece of luggage. Grade: A+
(2) Ease of wheeling it through airports and escalators and airport parking lots and up/down stairs. This thing is perfect. It has 4 wheels so that it can be used as a "spinner". I initially thought this was a silly idea, but after having used it a few time as a "spinner" I am converted -- great idea. Minor complaint -- when leaning this up against a wall with a laptop case on top of it, it sometimes slips away because the 4 wheels. But you shouldn't leave your luggage out of your sight anyway. Grade: A
(3) Ability to expand if I need it. In case I am on a long-haul flight and need to carry some extra things (and the overheads in international flights tend to be larger anyway), I need some expansion ability. This has a zipper that alows for some expansion. Grade: A.
(4) Durability, as gate-checked luggage. Gate-checked luggage is often treatly poorly, and so gate checked bags need to be durable. This one is great. Grade: A.
(5) Other: Neat little handle underneath next to the wheels, that makes it easy to lift onto airport screening belts, easy to lift out of rental car trunks, easy to lift onto hotel luggage racks -- really good idea. Interior of the luggage is very good. There are straps to hold down clothes, which are helpful. And it can easily fit work clothes, running clothers and running shoes -- I use it for 4-day trips and also 14-day international trips (hint: take only what you need for 4-5 days and just dry clean/launder at hotels). Has two positions for the handle lock (really good idea). A few separate storage zippers are a good idea too. It has one of those click straps that can be used to hold another straped on bag (never seen a use for that though). Grade: A+
If you are an air traveler who needs a great carry-on bag, this will be perfect for you. A+ piece of luggage.
