(More customer reviews)The item looks like it is going to work, and the locking mechanism was fairly easy to set, however, the metal loop itself doesn't go down into the body of the lock, it just sits on the surface in a little bit of a groove - this makes the lock look like it could be easily pulled apart.. however, I think it's probably good enough...
My biggest issue with this lock is the deceptive advertising... be aware that there is only ONE lock that comes with this purchase. The picture shows 4, and I've bought sets of 4 before that were around 10 dollars... the write up itself doesn't state how many locks would come with the purchase, so I went on the assumption that it would be 4 as pictured on the display page.
In the end, the product looks like it's going to be an ok lock, but be aware that you are purchasing just one - not four!
In Summary:
I gave this product less than a four for its deceptive advertisement and it's flimsy locking mechanism, but gave it a three because it appears that it will be functional and work as intended. Although I probably would have gone for a product with a status indicator around the same price if I had know that this was a single lock purchase.

(More customer reviews)As the other reviewer pointed out, it does the job but it is plastic and it seemed to me that a good hit with some object or even some strong pulls on the strap (like a baggage handler using it as grip) would break it open.
I purchased this to secure a video camera case because security would not allow me to lock the case using the built-in keyed locks. So instead of leaving a few thousand dollars of equipment unlocked I needed a solution such as this strap to at least give me minimum lock ability and a small piece of mind.
It worked great on three trips and stayed secure. I don't know if the TSA ever needed to open it or not but all was secure. The fourth trip did not fare so well, actually it is more of a mystery. The locking strap simply was gone at my destination. I have no idea what may have happened to it but all my case contents were still there. So there you go, at the very least the lock was released and somehow discarded by TSA knuckleheads or it broke during handling. I did purchase another one though so for me it does fill that bare minimum locking need.

(More customer reviews)I bought this bag for a recent trip to Italy - my first international trip - because I was concerned about petty theft. I had heard all kinds of stories from experienced travelers about pickpockets and thieves, and I specifically bought this bag for its security features. I can't say for sure how effective the security features are (how does one measure that?), but having this bag definitely put me at ease, and I had no problems with theft during my two-week trip (and I was in some pickpocket-heavy places). The larger, main pocket is great for items like notebooks or magazines (which I always carry, as a writer-grad student), with enough room for my travel journal, netbook and travel guides; the front pocket is perfect for keeping smaller things, like keys, camera and cash convenient. I kept my passport folio and credit cards in the "hidden pocket" in the back, which is deep enough that you can essentially keep these things "buried", and then I kept my daily spending cash in a little interior pocket in the front compartment. The water bottle pocket on the side was big enough to hold a full liter-size bottle (essential if you're in Italy in the summer), and - amazingly enough - even when the water bottle was wet from condensation or from filling, while the outside of the bag became wet, my items inside stayed perfectly dry. This bag even proved useful as an overnight bag on a trip to Venice - it was big enough to hold all my regular stuff, plus a set of clothes and toiletries for the next day.

We had to be careful with weight restrictions during her journey and I was PLEASED with this bag when we got it! It has a very cool graffiti design on it that appeals to my 16 year old and the versatility of the bag is endless. She can pack for her departure and the outer detachable bag can be for her purchases and can be a carry on. She can be sure that no one else will have a bag like this..design or look! Im thinking of getting one for myself in a solid color. You will NOT be disappointed with this bag...and I am VERY picky!

(More customer reviews)I've traveled with this bag for years and it does not disappoint. It's the largest garment bag made that you can carry on. It will even fit in the overhead bin on the airplane sideways (handle facing to the side versus facing directly out). It will accomodate 3-5 days of clothes so perfect for those trips of a week or less. The bag is very durable...after 500k air miles it's still flying with no problems. Buy this bag and you won't be disappointed. As good or better than the Tumi bags I have.
