I purchased the G.I. Type Brass Zipper Mechanics tool bag, Black on Amazon. It has sturdy handles and I like it very much. A tip that I would like to share is that I sort my cosmetics in clear sandwich zip lock bags, like 1 sandwich bag I would put my makeup brushes, and another I would put my mascaras, and so on. It works very well for me as a cosmetic bag.

Large Utility Duffel Bag - Black - 18x36" Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this after a month of searching for a laundry bag that was large enough to hold more than 2 loads and had a shoulder strap (without paying $80 for it).
This bag is perfect - it holds at least 5 loads plus detergent/fabric softener, and I'm pretty sure I could stuff another load in if I wanted. Sturdy construction, comfortable plastic-grip handles, and good padding on the shoulder strap.

This bag is great for that. I can now carry all my extra items in one bag, and not go to a location and say I wish had brought that with me....LOL

I have other bags for things like my cameras, tripods, light stands, and back ground stands, so this bag is not meant for those kinds of items.

Black Diamond Huey 150 Review

(More customer reviews)Was looking for a durable weatherproof duffel to replace a 12 year old Eddie Bauer. I was looking for a duffel with one large compartment. A good friend recommended the BD Huey Duffel. This bag is really well made. The stitching and seams are super tough. It has one main flap with heavy duty zippers running the length of the bag. The zippers are covered and provide great protection from wet conditions. The bag is not waterproof. But, it's as close to waterproof as a bag can be. It has a ton of configurations for the straps that can be used as a backpack or just a shoulder strap. It has about eight different attachment points for the straps. Webbing is crisscrossed over both ends of the bag providing another place to lift, pull, or attach whatever is needed. My only problem with the bag is the straps do tend to slide open if you grab it near the fasteners. It just makes them go from short to long (in a very short amount of time). Make sure and grab the shoulder pads to avoid this problem. Other than that it's a perfect gear bag and luggage bag.

Shoulder strap is comfortable and can be extended to be very long. I recently used it on a weekend trip and used the mesh net for odd ball toiletries that i didn't want leaking on my clothes. And fit enough clothes for my wife and I for the whole weekend. Great product.

3484 Black Double Strap GI TYpe Duffle Bag Review

(More customer reviews)this is a decent backpack style bag for carrying groceries in an apartment/condo situation where the car is far from the residence. it also seems like it would travel well as checked luggage (i'd probably add a backup lock/clip on the top, but that may not really be needed, and i'd probably double-bag dry stuff since the top is not watertight). all in all, a decent bag that has no zipper to break and that can be carried as a backpack when traveling. some of the edges on the metal of the top clip could be rounded better to avoid scratching or snagging other luggage.
i got two of these bags from different vendors giving different sizes - same bag. the cargo space is about 12x12x30 inches closed. the "24" inch width given by some vendors is a measurement of the bag flattened and spread out. the 36 inch height does not account for the space needed to close the bag. this is not a bad thing - the old monster duffels are too big to check for air travel.
i note the other reviewer with concerns for durability. i have not carried large weights in this bag for extended periods of time, so i just don't know. i personally really need a hip belt when i go deep woods backpacking anyway - i am in good shape, but not great shape. this bag also has the issue of a top opening - rain would be a problem. i would agree that there are better deep woods backpacks. anyway, it seems at least as durable as most heavy travel duffels, perhaps more so since it has no zipper.

My photo gear weighs 15 pounds so did not have much else to take but still needed room for "stuff" on the way back to U.S. This worked great. It's tough and small enough to squeeze through the small cargo hatch on planes used to reach remote locations. I bet it will outlive me!

(More customer reviews)I got pretty much what I expected with this product - a very basic bag that I could pack inside my luggage, then pull out to transport souvenirs on the return trip. But I will give a few notes on things that could be better about the bag:
- The shoulder strap is not detachable, so it hangs loose -- not ideal when checking a bag
- It doesn't pack quite as small as I'd hoped. It takes up area about the size of an iPad but 4 inches thick
- The bag has to be packed pretty full, or it becomes so floppy that I would worry about checking it on a plane
These things aside, I am totally happy with the purchase.

The nicest feature of the bag was that it was small enough to be used as a carry-on during my recent flight to New York (I ordered the Medium size). I could even fit my laptop (in its case) on top of my clothing and other personal items. This saved me more money than I paid for the bag! Overall, I stand by this bags quality. This one is "just right" for carrying not only wortk stuff, but lunch and workout clothes too. Very sturdy zippers, comfortable shoulder strap, lots of pockets, including the place to put damp work out clothes or towels.
Very good for the price, and equal in utility to bags costing lots more. (BTW, we kept the larger size - it's a really nice travel bag, but not good for schlepping on public transportation.)
