This bag is very sturdy and it holds my Lenovo 17" wide screen (T61p) very well. I used to carry the IBM one and I also got the swiss army wheel one that they both are not as good as this. The style is very techno and the pockets are well design for use efficiently.
With the notebook, external hard drives, cables, mouse, and other computer accessories, I still have room to put my bills, files and folders in the back . The front poctet can actually hold a lot of small stuff, such as memory sticks, pens, business cards, keys, letters, bandaide and etc... The very top front small pocket which has a zipper is good for the check books and credit cards. The right side front pocket can hold the cell phone or iPod.
If you are looking for a light wheelable day-to-day notebook bag, this one is a very good choice. I normally put it in the trunk, but I also use it with public transit without feeling too heavy to wheel it in the city of SF or on the subway BART.
I just recently got the Lenovo 17.6" wide screen (W510) and it still fit but very tight on the side.
