(More customer reviews)My 9 year old horse-crazy daughter wanted a "horse" messenger bag for school. She doesn't like backpacks. This bag caught her eye. It is nicely made but even with the strap shortened all the way, it is too big for her, though she uses it happily every day. The snaps are nice and secure but more time-consuming for a child than a backpack zipper and she sometimes gets frustrated with them. there are 2 pockets under the flap, but the inner straps make them awkward to get to without opening the whole thing anyway. I am glad we got it and it is working OK but might have been happier with a smaller product we saw elsewhere. OTOH, she can certainly fit anything she needs for school in here, including extra clothes, snow pants, etc., which is a big plus.
