(More customer reviews)I got this to replace my backpack and separate computer tote that I used to schlep through airports awkwardly. I really like its light weight, and has really taken a load off my shoulders while I carry computer, camera, binoculars, PDA, cellphone, reading material, inflatable pillow and spare clothes with me. I find that I don't have the space that I used to, but am still able to put it all together in one bag. However, I still have two problems that make me consider how much I will continue to use this bag. I have a major problem with the design. the zipper for the main compartment zips from the top to midbag to close. That means that if I am retrieving reading material in the airport, most of the contents are exposed for others to see or to tumble onto the floor. If the zipper closed like a backpack, going from midbag to the top, this wouldn't occur. The other problem has to do with the girth of the bag and the weight I put in it. I'm less than 5'3" and would prefer to slide it under the seat in front of me. On large planes, there is not enough clearance under the seat for it to fit so I resort to reaching up (with my bum shoulders)to stash it in the overheads--not pretty or safe. On small commuter plane, it doesn't fit in the overheads but will slide easily under the seat in front of me. (I will no longer complain about the hard seats on smaller planes!) The sage is a pleasant cover but gets visible black scuff marks when going through the x-ray machines.
