(More customer reviews)As the other reviewer pointed out, it does the job but it is plastic and it seemed to me that a good hit with some object or even some strong pulls on the strap (like a baggage handler using it as grip) would break it open.
I purchased this to secure a video camera case because security would not allow me to lock the case using the built-in keyed locks. So instead of leaving a few thousand dollars of equipment unlocked I needed a solution such as this strap to at least give me minimum lock ability and a small piece of mind.
It worked great on three trips and stayed secure. I don't know if the TSA ever needed to open it or not but all was secure. The fourth trip did not fare so well, actually it is more of a mystery. The locking strap simply was gone at my destination. I have no idea what may have happened to it but all my case contents were still there. So there you go, at the very least the lock was released and somehow discarded by TSA knuckleheads or it broke during handling. I did purchase another one though so for me it does fill that bare minimum locking need.
