(More customer reviews)I bought the Ricardo Beverly Hills 30" duffel in 2008 for international trips I was planning beginning in 2009. The size and design is fine but I had problems from my first trip. A minor problem is that unless you stuff the lower zippered portion the bag will not stand on its wheels but will fall forward. Putting a pair of hiking boots in that section seemed to solve the problem.
Now for the real problems - On my first trip (Costa Rica) the nylon webbing at the center top on the outside ripped completely off and the name tag attached to it was lost. It was under warranty and I was able to get it repaired at a facility 75 miles from my home. On the second trip (Ecuador/Galapagos) the wheels started dragging and the bottom of the duffel began to rub the ground and the nylon started to shred. After my third trip (Alaska cruise) the bottom was completely dragging the ground and the wheels were not at all functional and my duct tape repairs to the bottom nylon was coming off. After coming home I opened up the zippered compartment revealing the support structure on the back inside and found the plastic support for the entire back and wheels was shattered into literally hundreds of pieces. I submitted a photo to Amazon, but am not sure if it will be published.
Initially I liked the bag but it is extremely poorly designed. I now have to replace it....unless the company will replace it for me after this review!!! I certainly don't want another like it, however.
No one should buy this bag and it should be removed from the Amazon site.
