(More customer reviews)I casually looked for a bag for over a year and chose this one. I'm happy with it, which I've used daily for five months. My bag has a greenish tint. It's light weight, rugged, still looks fresh, and is not too big or bulky. Yet it's large enough to hold my everyday stuff, my electronics, sandwich, the papers I forget to dump out, water and if I stuff it, shorts and shirt for the gym. I carry recording equipment for my podcast, and they're fairly protected and easily pulled out. One feature I thought was dumb but has become essential is the padded hidden handle in the back.

I feel silly rating a daily bag with five stars. Usually I reserve that for things I love with so much warmth I'd marry it (see for instance "Hommage a Nesuhi"). But look, I use it every day and am happy with it everyday.

Tumi Alpha Frequent Traveler 22" Framed Expandable Carry On 22022 Review

(More customer reviews)This is a great looking bag. I've only had it a few months but it is definitely a sturdy piece of luggage. The quality of its craftsmanship is far superior to Samsonite or Ricardo luggage. Some of the nicer Swiss Army and Briggs & Riley luggage are the only bags that are really as nice and simple as this one.
Unfortunately, it is slightly large for Southwest Airline's fleet of 737s to put the bag in "handle first." The bag must be put sideways which draws a little ire from other travelers (A-list means I never have to worry about space, though). And it's not like I ever bring more than one luggage and my computer bag, unlike some people. It will fit in United and AA's overhead bins straight in(not sure which planes).
Overall, I'd say for the price it might not be worth it. However, if you travel enough and could have over $1000 worth of clothes and shoes in your bag, you might as well spend a little to keep them safe.
One slightly troubling issue I noticed was that my telescoping handle was defective and required a little manipulating to close. The little knobs that stick out to keep the handle up weren't closing properly. So that was shipped in for warranty service. For a $600 bag, you'd think there'd be better quality control. Anyway, I got the bag back and it now has a different handle with grey Tumi lettering on the button and grey (not red) Tumi lettering on the outer bezel of the handle receptacle (on the back of the bag).

(More customer reviews)Fantastic, stylish, well designed product. It can take some serious punishment, despite its light weight, due to the unique material that Tumi use. It's expensive, but it lasts. This (carry-on) size piece is perfect for the serious business traveller and I bought it as a companion to its bigger brother, which I have used constantly for ten years. Tumi have a luggage registration system for their products, which helps the tracing of the luggage back to you if it is lost.
I like the fact that it is not overly ostentatious. It doesn't scream "steal me". But it is certainly smart enough that you are not embarrassed to be seen with it.
Tumi isn't cheap, but their products will last at least twice as long as Samsonite (I was a Samsonite user before). It's basically a flawless business workhorse.

Skyway Sigma 2 27" Rolling Gear Bag Review

I've been on two cross country trips with it over the last month and a half (loaded with about 40 lbs of stuff) and the only wear it's showing is some scuffing of the material on the underside. It looks like it may wear all the way through soon though, and if it does, I'll update this review.
Pros: Lots of pockets, very light, sturdy handles, and it rolls well.
Cons: Aforementioned scuffing, doesn't stand up on its end very well (though this is a duffel type bag, so I guess that can be forgiven), also, it feels as though the zipper pulls could break pretty easily if you're not careful with them because they tend to go off-center with the zipper itself. No problems if you're careful to center them prior to pulling.
Would definitely repurchase if I was in the market again.

(More customer reviews)This bag is super light weight but still sturdy enough for normal use. With the 50 lb limits on baggage, you really need something like this if you want to carry more than a few items.
It doesn't have a lot of extra pockets or dividers - but that is what helps keep it light.
I also appreciated the choice of colors so that I could have a case that didn't look like everyone else's. It is much easier to find on the carousel.

Samsonite Aspire GRT 25" Expandable Upright Review

(More customer reviews)I decided to buy this rolling suitcase for a 2-week trip to Italy after I broke my last rolling suitcase on my return trip from Germany after I had only owned it for 3 days. First of all, I am currently deployed, which means that I had to roll this suitcase through A LOT of sand, gravel, and a mixture of sand and gravel. I don't think that any other suitcase would have handled it, but this one actually didn't break (it is beat up, but not broken!) Suitcases, in general, do not roll well in deep sand and gravel, but I rolled it through anyway because it was too heavy for me to hand-carry. Second, while I was rolling my suitcase through sand and gravel, I decided to help out an acquaintenance by putting her 50 lb. duffel bag full of body armor on top of my rolling suitcase and then rolling it through the sand/gravel. Believe it or not, my suitcase actually did not break. And then, after rolling my suitcase through a ton of sand and gravel, I rolled it all throughout Italy....up and down stairs; in and out of trains, subs, and buses; and over wet and dry pavement. And, once again, it did not break! Granted, the suitcase really looks worn (any suitcase would have at least looked worn after my harsh treatment), but the handle and wheels still work like a charm. So, yes, I would definitely recommend this suitcase to anyone. Especially to those people who really need a sturdy suitcase.
Oh, and one other thing, this suitcase holds a lot of stuff! It is very roomy, and yet the size of the suitcase is not awkward. The only thing that I wish that this suitcase had is spinner wheels (I actually thought that I was ordering the model with spinner wheels...oh well). It still is a fantastic suitcase.
