(More customer reviews)One thing I like about Wildkin brand backpacks is that they are made of nylon and polyester, not vinyl or other more toxic plastics. This is our second Wildkin backpack. The first lasted for about 3 years, and then the inner lining that keeps it water resistant begin to peel off. (I think I might have tried to wash this backpack in the machine, and perhaps I shouldn't have.) Otherwise, the zippers lasted, and there wasn't any other wear in tear with stitching in straps. little holes, etc. that can happen with backpacks. So, I was glad to buy a new Wildkin to replace the old one. There are 2 large zippered sections. The smaller of the 2 has pouches for pencils and other small items. For my 5 year old son, (who is a little tall for his age) the straps need to be tightened all the way for him to wear it. The straps adjust well enough that I can wear this backpack for this times. (I used our old Wildkin backpack as a carry on for airplane toys, etc. for my son, and sometimes it was easier for me to wear it through the airports.) So, even though the backpack is designed for k-2, older people can wear it. I think the reason they put this restriction on the age is that this backpack can't hold too many books, folders, etc. for the older school age child. My son loves his backpack. The color pattern and images are just as shown in the online photo- no deception there. Just watch for that peeling I mentioned, and otherwise you got yourself a good sturdy backpack for your primary grader.
