I just received this luggage set. It looks great and I love the color (I got the green). I haven't use the luggage yet so I don't know how durable it is, but basing just on looks, I'm really pleased. A really good price for three nice pieces of luggage (and it came with a little toiletry travel bag too).

Skyway Sigma 2 Bi-Fold Garment Bag Review

Skyway Sigma 2 Bi-Fold Garment Bag
Average Reviews:

Product was as advertised. We used it for travel overseas for 2.5 weeks and it did not break.
Things that we do not like:
- The latch that holds the hangers came loose during the travel on one occasion, even though we did not put too many hangers (we put 4).
- We would like it better if we can zip up the bag into folded position instead of using plastic latches to hold it in folded position.
- It would be nice to have a fold up section inside that can help folding long items.

Thule Crossover 56 Liter Rolling Duffel Review

Thule Crossover 56 Liter Rolling Duffel
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This is not my first experience with a Thule. I have a rooftop carrier on my vehicle that is made by this company that is also very rugged and durable. I can say the same thing for this rolling duffel pack. The materials used here are Nylon which is one of the most rugged and indestructible material for making luggage. It can withstand the elements and all the throwing, tussle and tumble a luggage would undergo in the airlines. The main compartment with an area of 56 liters or 3418 cubic inches is large enough to handle a casual traveler's gear and it has a divider to separate clean and dirty contents. So if you go out for camping, hiking or trekking, once you pack up, you can keep you dry and clean clothing separate from the wet and dirty ones. The Thule also has aluminum exoskeleton construction and molded polypropylene back panel s to keep it light and absorb almost anything you can throw at it. The handles are telescoping and also made of aluminum. There is a "safe zone" slot--a heat molded and crush-proof container to put your fragile gear without the fear of crushing it. The wheels are rather large compared to a regular wheeled luggage but Thule made this so as to assure a smooth, steady pull while the luggage is in motion. Very impressed overall with this luggage. I especially like the materials which this luggage is made of---very light, durable and rugged. Will surely last for years to come. I will be putting this on a real-world use pretty soon as I will be going out of the country. But just going over this luggage, physically inspecting it, the build feels very tough. Exactly what you need in a luggage where airport handlers just toss the luggage around. I have no doubt it can stand the abuse. Very impressed with the quality of this luggage!

Samsonite Oyster 29" Cartwheel Review

Samsonite Oyster 29 Cartwheel
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
After 17 yrs of extensive travel (trains, planes, cruises)and abuse (I actually lent this suitcase to my parents and my sister whenever they traveled), the wheel finally got snapped off of my Oyster. After a cruise, we picked it up missing 1 wheel - with the tight corners of the ship halls and the fact that it probably weighed >70 lbs at the time, I can't blame the cruise ship.
I thought this suitcase was great for packing breakables; wine bottles merely surrounded by clothes never broke. I had no problem pulling this suitcase and we really would overload it. Because of its size, we really didn't need a lot of other luggage to deal with though. You wouldn't see me pulling this and handling more than a shoulderstrap piece of luggage. I have gone through a million cheap and expensive soft luggage - the telescoping handles always eventually break/get stuck, they rip and the zippers break. This suitcase really lasted! Geeezzzzzzz, I still can't believe it has been > 17 yrs.
Now I'm looking for a new hard suitcase and I'm considering something different but if there is one thing I can recommend and that I will stick with is the POLYPROPYLENE hardcase. I don't care what brand it is, that plastic is really tough. When the family travels, we can have multiple soft suitcases but we need 1 hardside suitcase to hold breakables. I've looked at the ABS, Polycarbs etc and they all give - the polypropylene does not give - I could sit on it! Unless you are getting into the aluminum, want to pay a thousand bucks, those other hardcase materials just seem flimsy to me. I would never chance a wine bottle in any of them.
I don't know why I didn't rate this a 5 star, other than that I'm not sure if the oysters selling today are as good as the ones made 17 yrs ago, it doesn't have TSA lock and I'm too lazy to go back and figure out how to change the rating to at least 4 1/2 stars.
Hope this helps.

Samsonite Solana 22" Upright Review

Samsonite Solana 22 Upright
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
A sophisticatedly stylish piece of luggage with clever design details such as a tethered combination lock for the main zipper that can never be lost. The wheels are smooth and quiet. Both the cobblestone color and the fabric shimmer help differentiate it at baggage claim, but the shade is light enough to show scuffing after a couple of check ins. At 22" this is probably the largest size to fit in all overhead compartments and best used exclusively as carry-on. While it does look noticeably larger than a 20", I had no trouble bringing it on board American, Delta, Mexicana, and Continental in the last 6 months. However the nice expandable feature (activated by red zipper pull) that lets you pack an extra 2" of stuff could make it a troublesome fit in smaller overhead compartments.
My only frustration is with the inexplicably impractical luggage tag. It is a stamped aluminum rectangle secured by an elastic tether to a sheath on the suitcase itself. Samsonite provides a cheap looking sticker for it that is really too small to write one's name/address/phone. The aluminum rectangle is smaller than a standard business card, so business travelers can't tape the latter to the former. And because the sheath has its opening facing down, you can't insert your business card and expect it to stay in place.
This Solana line sells at a premium and I have no qualms about my purchase. To Samsonite I say, even though you own American Tourister, try not to make it so obvious that similarly sized models selling for about half the price use the same retractable handle!

Traveler's Choice Rome 29" Hardshell Spinner Suitcase Review

Traveler's Choice Rome 29 Hardshell Spinner Suitcase

(More customer reviews)
I bought this piece for my girlfriend to travel to Europe with. By the time she reached me, the fabric that covers the spine of the case was completely undone, and the casters seemed to be on the very brink of failing.
She's attempting to contact the supplier or the manufacturer to remedy the situation. I would love nothing more than to report in a follow-up that the suitcase is being replaced. Perhaps we got a bad one, or perhaps it doesn't stand up to even one trip.
I'll post the results of her warranty claim.
