Especially important now that the airlines are charging for every little thing they can and now are planning on charging for all checked baggage. I wouldnt be without this on future trips. Very easy to use and very easy to read. Money well spent

(More customer reviews)The scale works fine for anything under 30 pounds. However, most suitcases weight more. Any time you have 30 pounds or more the scale does not work accurately - the poundage figure keeps bouncing around and, as such, you cannot get a true weight. This product cost way too much.

Travel Scale- Ergonomic Review

(More customer reviews)I just took this scale on a trip to Bali with the idea that this portable luggage scale would be the end of my luggage weight issues etc. Unfortunately, this product over-estimates (either direction would be bad of course!) by about 15%, which is a HUGE number given the tight restrictions there are on weight limits on overseas flights. Also, I might add that I am a strong guy and when I carefully picked up a suitcase that weighed about 50 lbs....this scale completely fell apart. Not good. It says it is rated for 75 lbs. Obviously this rating was set for lunar gravity and not for Earth. Overall, I am VERY DISAPPOINTED in this product.
****Recommendation for alternate/superior product***
A fellow traveler in Bali had another portable luggage scale made by Balanzza http://www.balanzza.com/ that was everything this scale was not (1) sturdy and (2)accurate.

(More customer reviews)pros: It's convenient since it's small. Good to have an estimate of your luggage weight when you don't have a scale around.
cons: It's hard to hold 50 lbs with one arm, which is what you need to do to get an accurate read. I had to use both my arms but made the measurement really hard (it's very hard to stabilize the scale).
I will still use it to weigh my luggage since this is the only scale I have around the house. However, I think I will use it more to weigh lighter items. I don't have the arm strength to lift my 50-lb luggage with one hand.

* Poorly constructed (rubber grips starting coming off on first use)
* The weight doesn't register with the hold feature unless you manage to keep it still for a while.
Overall:
So-so. It remains somewhat useful, but the "hold" feature doesn't work consistently.

Lewis N. Clark Balanzza Digital Luggage Scale weighs luggage BZ200 Review

(More customer reviews)We all know the frustration of weighing your luggage on Bathroom scales or even better... using one owns perception by lifting a luggage and saying.. " mmm.. yes. it feels like 20 pounds.....").
After a brief research on different brands, price (and quality), I decided to purchase this neat little device from Amazon. It is not the most expensive one, not the cheapest.. but since this device will not so be often used (perhaps 3 times a year) I found it to be just right.
We used it and indeed the difference was not more than 0.3 pounds when we arrived at the airport counter. Very easy to use.. Just hook on the belt/clips on your luggage and lift this with your hand. After a few seconds, you hear this beep.. telling you that it has finished measuring. LCD display is very clear indicating the measured weight. You can change the unit to kg.. if you so desire this.
To turn it off.. it does this automatically or by keep on pressing the power button. One small detail not written on the carton instruction/package.. Do not keep on pressing the unit button. The scale goes into this "calibration mode" which is absolutely not described on the instruction carton package. I had to go to the Internet and figure out what to do when the "Calibration" mode popped up. Found out to just turn it of..
This is by the way the only flaw I found from this product. It does not come with a nice instruction sheet with fully described modes of operation. Otherwise I highly recommend this product.

(More customer reviews)Excellent digital scale, an essential gadget every traveler should carry. Just be aware that it doesn't run on AAA or AA batteries, a thing you would know if you go to the manufacturer website to learn more about it.
The Balanzza scale comes with two CR2032 batteries, that didn't last long, so I'm guessing the life of them were poor.
Anyway, I bought a new pair of batteries and everything it's working perfect.
I highly recommend this scale.

(More customer reviews)I took this with me on my trip to NYC last week and it worked! Since I was traveling alone, I wanted to compact my luggage as much as possible without running over the weight limit.
After I packed my bags, I hooked up the Balanzza Mini and immediately got a reading of the weight. No problems! It was easy to hook up and easy to read. I then whizzed through check-in at the airport both going and coming back.
It's lightweight and doesn't take up much space in your luggage, so I also packed it for the trip home. I always buy clothes or other "souvenirs" when I travel, so it came in handy on the other end, too!
Check it out. With the price of checked baggage going up, this might save you money!

(More customer reviews)We bought this hand held scale to verify that we were not transporting bags over the weight limit of some airlines. To do so would mean to incur hefty fees. It is firmly built and transports easily. It can require considerable strength to hold up the scales with a 50 pound bag dangling on the hook. The scale can handle it easily but the person(s) using it may be a different problem. However, using a scale is important since flying with some airlines can be a pricy proposition if you exceed bag weight limits.

Travelon Ergonomic Mechanical Scale Review

(More customer reviews)What I liked about this travel scale above the other options I saw, was the fact there ar no metal hooks that can damage your garment and belongings during the travel (specially considering how airlines handle luggage).
Although all pieces in this scale are plastic, the lifting strap and the rubber grip area offer a rugged feeling.
The measuring tape comes handy, too.
And everything for a very reasonable price.

Plenty went wrong, after weighing my bag a couple of times it ceased to work and once again I had to rely on the bathroom scale! Five weeks later after cooling off I took it apart and found the reset was completely unattached to the spring and there was a loose part found inside. Save you money and find a better product.

(More customer reviews)I really hesitate to choose when I was trying to purchase a luggage scale. There are several types and models but I really think that my choice was correct.
This scale is the union of all the features I liked from other models.
Use a hook to hold in place of a belt clip.
The display is in direct eye line so it is easier to see the weight.
You can easily hold it with both hands, most others only leave room for a hand. In my case I can lift 25 kilos (55 lbs) with one hand but, of my family I'm the only one that can do that.
It's very light and takes up little space.
The weight reading is hold on the display.
It comes in various colors so no one will complain about the style.
I already took 50 measurements and compare with the digital scale in my home and the difference was never greater than 0.2 kg (0,5 lbs).
Real is an excellent product that fulfills its promises. I cant rate the durability cause it hasnt broke yet.

(More customer reviews)I kind of expected a little more. The product description mentions that you can put the luggage down and still be able to read the weight but that is not true with the model I received.
I don't know if it's broken or there's a secret clip somewhere (instructions are poor) but the fact is, as soon as you touch the ground with whatever it is you're weighting, measurement is gone.
If you have a big suitcase, it's a little complicated to hold it and bend to look at the dial. Measurement needles trembles a little, so it will give you a pretty good idea of how much weight you have but will not be precise. If you need absolute precision, go with a better, maybe digital model.
