(More customer reviews)Got this for K, as they don't carry text books back and forth yet. We are now going into second grade and our school still does not send text books home. It holds folders, chapter books, her lunch box easily. We usually put a water bottle in the front pocket with her daily snack.
I wash it and dry it in my dryer and all the dirt comes out. I could see it being too small when they start to carry more than one text book home, but for $19.99 we got a lot of use out of it.Plus, it isn't too babyish for a second grader and it worked for my horse lover when in K.

This is a very functional cool looking backpack. Very unique, and stylish... I never like to by something that everybody else would have. (More customer reviews)In the photo it looks slightly worn and broken in but when the dark brown bag showed up, it looked okay except that the wear pattern was a little strange. The small pocket and face of the pack was way too distressed for the look of the pack....almost white! Like someone wore it down with a rock,a brush and bleach. It,s good for a grunge look but not a vintage look. Ita kinda weird. I'm sending mine back.

(More customer reviews)First and only backpack I have ever used. This backpack is really, really, REALLY durable. So durable that it's actually older than me! I am 13 years old, and my backpack is 14 years old (1996 - 2010).
My brother bought the backpack when starting high school, and I recieved it was passed down to me when I was in 2nd grade. My backpack has been through almost daily caring in high school, college, traveling, elementary school, and now middle school.
It just shows how durable this backpack is. The main compartment held 2 textbooks, a binder, a couple folders, and a couple of notebooks for 14 years every day. The middle compartment has 3 pencil pockets and a slighty bigger one (i use it to put hold my iPod). There is also the smallest compartment at the very front, which has a little clip in there you can use to hold your keys or whatever else you desire.
This backpack could have not been bought through Amazon, as it was bought in 1996, when Amazon was recently founded and only sold books. Therefore I cannot comment on shipping.
Basically, this backpack can hold an average amount of supplies, but what this backpack really excels at is durability. If that's what you're looking for, than I recommend this backpack.

This bag has been a really good purchase, plus it has been very sturdy. I do not have to worry about crumbs in the bag or will it rip due to the netting material on it.
