Samsonite Space-Savers Set of 4 Review

The concept for using these items is very good in that they prevent your clothes from shifting in your luggage and getting wrinkled as opposed to staying in one place within the bags and wrinkle free. But getting the bags to close and stay closed was difficult. The pull tabs kept coming off so just lining up the strips to adhere together and pushing out the air was a chore. But they worked good once you were able to accomplish this.

Travelon Set of 2 Compression Packing Bags Review

I am a Massage Therapist in Oregon, and travel between my offices by bicycle. I use these bags to protect my clothes and sheets from dampness and to compact everything so it will fit in my panniers. Try getting 6-7 sets of sheets on a bike! I am pretty rough on them, because I am rushing from one place to the other to make my appointments. Many of the manufacturers have bags which fall apart, for instance the "Space Bags." I have used the Travelon and Eagle Creek bags for the last month, 5 days a week, and have found them both to my liking. The Eagle Creek are heavier duty, and their zip lock plastic runner is more likely to stay on the bag than the Travelon. Both will come off though. This is a minor inconvenience. One of the things, besides their better construction, that make both of these products better than the Space Bag (available at Bed Bath and Beyond, Target, and Amazon) is the ease of which I can bleed the air out. The Space Bag valve takes so much effort that it puts stress on the already weak plastic so the bag pops and fails. A Space bag will last me about 2 weeks. The Travelon price is lower than the Eagle Creek, about $13 for two vs. $20 for two Eagle Creek, but the Eagle Creek is so much stronger that I think it will give longer service in harsh backpacking and bicycle touring environments which I am using it in. The Eagle Creek material has a mesh plastic embedded into the layers of the plastic, and the Zipper is much heavier-duty plastic than the Travelon. If I was using it for only traveling on an airplane, the Travelon will be excellent. It is really a matter of getting what you pay for.

Lewis N. Clark Compression Packers 3 Piece Set Review

I used these bags to pack my son's suitcase for his 10-day trip to Italy. I was a little skeptical due to the low price but purchased based on user reviews as you've got to trust those Amazon reviewers! Figuring out the compressing of the bag was a little tricky on the first one - had to use a little elbow grease to get the air locks to open and release air. However, once we got the hang of it on the first one, the rest were a breeze. We were able to pack enough clothes for a teenage boy for 10 days and only filled the suitcase about 2/3 full. This left him plenty of room for souveniors on the way back. It also served well to organize his suitcase for the trip. I bought two sets and we divided his clothes by day so he could pull out one bag and have everything in it. We packed one pair of jeans and 2 t-shirts, pairs of socks and underwear in each bag. It worked great for him! He then used the bags for his dirty laundry to keep it separated from his clean clothes. We also packed an empty bag for damp swim trunks that didn't have enough time to air dry overnight. Just rolled them up by themselves in a bag and the rest of his clothes stayed dry. Would highly recommend.
