Living in DC and a frequent user of public transportation, the features PacSafe products offer give me tons of added security when traveling on crowded trains and buses. By far, the BEST feature of this purse is the ability for it to change from a sleek looking shoulder bag, to a secure across-the-body bag when an additional layer of security is needed. If you want the more chic shoulder-bag option, the purse has an easy system that allows you to feed the extra strapping inside the bag and lock it within a secret compartment at the bottom. It's a really cool idea!
Despite it's normal-appearing size, the interior offers tons of room. There is a padded pouch that I use for my Blackberry (could also fit an iPOD or PDA). Plenty of room for the daily necessities (wallet, iPOD, lipstick, compact, bus pass, cell phone, etc). But the best part about the interior is the two additional zippered pockets. Either are great for storing things like a passport, keys or money - anything for which you need a little extra security or want to be able to find quickly. On the outside, there's an open pouch for anything you need to reach quickly but doesn't need security, such as a map. The strap detaches to allow you to latch the purse around a chair. This is not a feature I thought I would use, but a coworker recently told me about having her purse swiped off the back of her chair at a crowded DC restaurant during happy hour. I think I'll be utilizing this feature from now on!
Externally, this purse appears just like any other shoulder bag, and this was my main reason for purchasing it. It actually looks feminine, so you can use it for a variety of occassions. It's not big, so perfect for day or evening excursions around town. Of course, what you're really paying for is the anti-theft features - the exomesh layer that prevents someone from being able to slash the bottom of your purse and steal its contents, as well as the thin layer of cabeling that runs through the strap to prevent it from being easily cut. However, I can attest that these features are INVISIBLE.
Overall, this is an excellent buy if you live in the city, travel frequently, or do anything else that exposes you to the risk of theft.
