Bucky Shades Cotton Velour Review

(More customer reviews)The mask is very thick and therefore good at blocking out the light but the mask is rather huge. I have a small head so the mask is uncomfortably large. Also the thick Velcro straps are not very comfortable either. I pretty much never utilize it but that might change when the days start getting brighter in the morning instead of darker.

Bucky Shades Sleep Mask With Earplugs Review

(More customer reviews)I've owned two pair of these Bucky eyeshades over 15 years. They are comfortable and VERY effective, both at home and in an airplane. I keep one in my bedstand for the occasional weekend day when I get to sleep in a little and the other in my travel carry-on bag for flights.
The only downside is that after several years, the elastic in the bands begins to wear out, then they don't seal as well against your face to keep light out. Because the elastic is shot, I'm about to buy my third pair. (at this price, it's too bad that the elastic isn't easily replaceable, since the front part of the shades is still fine)

Bucky 40 Blinks Mask Ultralight Eye Mask Review

(More customer reviews)This sleep mask is very comfortable and would be perfect for travel, when you're sleeping in an upright position. However, there are a couple things that make this less than perfect:
1. The velcro attached to the straps is thick. This creates a bump (1/8" or so) on the back of your head that makes sleeping on your back unlikely. There really isn't a good position in which to place the strap to make this more comfortable. However, sleeping on your side is perfectly comfortable.
2. On my face, light leaks in on either side of the nostrils. If only there was an extra bit of fabric to gently close off that gap without putting pressure on the nostrils, this mask would be greatly improved.
Both of the above cons are minimized if you are using these on a train or plane, which is probably the intended use of this mask anyway. I just wanted to point them out in case you intend to use them in bed.

(More customer reviews)I ordered this eye mask, and a Bucky eye mask from another vendor on the same day, so I'm comparing this directly to the Bucky mask. The basic idea behind this mask is like a good eye mask: nice puffy foam with a compressed, recessed area to fit over the eye area, and an elastic strap with velcro to fit. But the execution is sloppy. The fabric over the foam is rough, cheap, and loosely woven, and seems faded. The compressed area to fit over the eyes isn't recessed quite enough, so it touches your eyelashes. The absolute worst and unforgivable part, is that the foam is so low-density and the fabric is such a loose weave that it doesn't block the light! Plus it doesn't really conform to the face, so there's a gap over the top and bottom of the nose where light gets in. This was a waste of money. Buy a Bucky.

(More customer reviews)I got this mask because my boyfriend started working earlier, which meant noise, lights on, me seeing the sun coming in from the window. I figured I could deal with one or the other, but not both light and noise. I wasn't about to get up 2 hours early so I needed something to keep me from being a total crab.
After doing some searching online, I got this light mask, even though I HATE things on my face, and it's great! It's very light and comfortable and the only light you can see is a little peep around your nose area. It's got plenty of room for you to open your eyes without feeling trapped (I have long eyelashes so sometimes my glasses can even be a bother but this mask was fine). It's actually made it so that I oversleep sometimes because it's so nice and dark. Love it! And love the leopard print!
