First off, I have to say that being that I would soon be headed to college, I wanted a backpack that could hold a lot of books, my laptop, and supplies while also being efficient and using up the space on top. I used a high sierra access backpack all through high school and I had to make "layers" with my books and binders. When it came to getting stuff out of the bottom, I had to remove everything on top. I can honestly say that when I saw this backpack online, I thought it was too good to be true. It was just what I was looking for...but would it work? After testing it for the last few weeks of high school, I was ready to take it to college. From the start, it made my life so much easier. The patented shelving unit is amazing. My binders and books can be slotted right into all parts of the bag. Everything that you put into the bag is easily accessible weather on the top or bottom. There are numerous organizers. After researching bags for days and numerous hours, I know I made the right choice. This backpack makes all others worthless. All of the space is usable, unlike in my other bag where the top portion of the bag was just an " empty air carrier". Also, I don't feel the bag pressing against my lower back. I regularly carry 35+ pounds of books and stuff, so comfort is a big deal and this thing delivers. The materials used in this backpack are similar to what you'd see in the high end Swissgear(synergy) backpacks or some of these others. Brands I looked at were swissgear, high sierra, Sumdex, Brenthaven, Dakine, Caribee, Ogio, and Targus. Not to say that those aren't good backpack makers, however none of them solve the main flaw in backpacks... the wasted and inefficient use of space on the top of the bag. The Ivar backpack is by far the most comfortable I've ever owned and can hold double what you think it could hold. I could easily stuff multiple(6+) phone-books into the slots with no problem. Also the multiple organizers are incredible for the little things. Another thing I love is the fact that it's not bulky because it distributes the load vertically and closer to your body. In all, I would highly recommend and would be surprised if Ivar is not a household name in the next five years.
