(More customer reviews)I purchased this case to hold a video camera package that I had recently gotten. Other cameras I have are in the travel cases provided by the manufacturer and road trips are a circus of roller bags, shoulder straps, and cases sliding all over the place.
The Porter Case works as advertised. Flip the retractable handle around and you have a sturdy hand truck to stack your other bags on. The case comes with a nylon strap that clips onto a metal ring at the top of the case and threads through a latch on the handle to securely tie down the whole stack.
I recently used this on a trip and towed 2 camera cases, 1 large suitcase, 1 laptop case, and 2 tripod cases with ease. Getting on and off of shuttle busses, and in and out of cabs required assembling and disassembling the stack - this was quickly and easily managed.
The lack of a carrying handle on the top was a nuisance. After I checked my bags onto the plane, I used the Porter Case as a carry-on. Whenever I closed the retractable handle to stow it on the plane, I found myself reaching for a handle that didn't exist. You can hook your fingers under the retractable handle, but it's awkward and uncomfortable. Grabbing the side handle means turning the bag around - not fun in a packed airplane aisle.
I also wish the latches were more rugged. I realise that this is not a heavy duty travel case, but I do have several thousand dollars worth of gear inside and would appreciate the extra peace of mind a more rugged latch would provide.
If you travel with a lot of bags, this is a highly recommended case to add to your collection. You might also want to get a luggage strap for that extra peace of mind.
