Maybe this style/design of bag is used, but I don't think it is quite heavy-duty enough for military use. However, this bag is perfect for cilvilians! It is a very high capacity bag that is fairly durable and is perfect for carrying large amounts of clothing from place to place. I used this bag to carry all (and I mean all) of my clothes to college, and as soon as I was unpacked...the bag laid flat and easily fit under my bed taking up almost no room. My only quirks about this bag is I'm not sure it can handle really heavy loads (which is fine if you use it for clothes) and it doesn't have a shoulder strap or device for back carry.
