(More customer reviews)I did a lot of research and read a lot of reviews before I decided to buy this bag. First, I bought the Nuo Tech Chloe Dao Flip Tote For 15.6" Screen-Pattern: Abstract Floral, which fit my laptop perfectly, and although I loved it, I didn't like the velcro closure and decided to return it and instead get the Satchel for my 15.6 laptop. I bought it at another online retailer new, for about $51.00 (with free shipping.)
I've read the reviews on amazon saying that 15.6 inch screens will not fit into the padded laptop area (despite almost all the websites selling it, and the tag saying so.) But I figured I liked it so much, i'd buy it anyway.
So when it arrived, I tried to fit my Gateway NV53A36u 15.6" Laptop Computer Blue into it, and as expected, it did not fit. But, I had already remedied this by buying a 15" laptop sleeve to protect it while it's in the main compartment of the bag.
Since I was curious, I decided to measure the exact length of the laptop compartment. It is actually only 13!" inches, two inches short of being 15", just enough to squeeze it in there snuggly. The compartment is also structured in such a way that does not make full use of the inside length of the bag, and is probably why they were two inches off. The designers overlooked that problem and should have tested some 15.6 laptops before finalizing the product.
Despite that one glaring flaw, I still like the bag, it's design and it's quality. I do wish it had more pockets on the inside, but that's not a big deal. The laptop compartment is useful for other things that need protecting -- compact cameras, ipads (even though I do not have one), and such. The straps are sturdy, and the design is lovely. I use it as laptop/travel bag.
