(More customer reviews)I ordered this bag to help me organize my work items, but unfortunately it's too small for those needs. The dimensions are 13.3" x 12.75" x 3" which makes it about the size of a medium handbag or purse. However, this KEEN bag has a lot perks:
1) It's made from reclaimed fabric scraps, so a) no one will be exactly alike b) these scraps would normally be thrown away
2) The strap is completely adjustable so it can be worn as a shoulder or cross body bag.
3) The hardware seems strong (I have not used the bag yet), and it's made from recycled aluminum
4) Double Velcro to secure the flap, along with a hook closure
5) Small zippered pocket on the outside of the bag behind the flap, and a larger zippered pocket on the inside along with 3 pen/pencil holders and an open pocket that can hold a cell phone or an ipod with extra room.
6) Awesome bright, fun colors! Mine came in a combo of pinks, red, gray, orange, green, and black.
7) The outside bottom of the bag has rubberized coating for protection
I've decided to keep the bag to add to my spring/summer handbag collection. It will be great to travel with as well. 4 stars because of the size, personally I wouldn't consider this a "messenger bag". I like the style so much though that I'm looking at purchasing the KEEN Cornell II Harvest Bag.
