They are the maximum size allowable by United Airlines without getting oversize charges and the lightest that I could find to avoid overweight charges. They were used to fly to and from a cruise and held up well. One exception is the clasp on the compression straps inside the luggage. One broke the first time that it was used and there does not seem to be any way to replace it. The blue color is attractive and stood out from other luggage on the flight carousels. There are only two wheels and they do not pivot but another, more expensive, piece of Atlantic luggage that I used did have pivoting wheels and they were smaller and, consequently, got caught in gaps such as are found in elevators between the building floor and the elevator floor. The ones on this luggage didn't.

(More customer reviews)When you go to collect your luggage at the airport, you will notice that 90 percent of the bags are black, about ten percent are red.
If you want to easily identify your bag on the carosel, avoid these colors.
In that vein, I ordered what I thought was a bright purple bag.
Unfortunately, the bag I received was about the darkest a purple could be and not be black. Ten feet away it looks black.
The bag does seem reasonably well made, although the handles are not as substantial and well padded as my other American Tourister bags. .

Delsey Meridian Plus Carry-On Suiter Trolley Review

I bought this because all of the name-brand soft luggage seems to be of the same poor quality these days. My last S-brand bag had most of the zipper pulls broken off within a year or two. This seems to fit the bill for relatively inexpensive hard luggage. It is not like the upscale stuff. The sides "give" when you press on them. What makes good luggage is how long the fittings and wheels last, and that remains to be seen. So far, I am quite in favor of the Meridian line.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this suitcase 2 weeks ago brand new through Amazon. When it arrived, it had threads coming out and there was a defect in the zipper. Today I am about to leave for a trip (which I purchased the luggage for) and the zipper broke completely. There is clearly very poor quality control with Travelpro. I do not think a luggage of this poor quality is worth anywhere near what they are trying to charge. The materials feel cheap and they are not put together well. And since the zipper is useless, its worthless to me.
I do not recommend that you purchase this luggage. I honestly have never written a product review before because I have never been so shocked and motivated to warn people until now.

The compartments are mind blowing, well separated and well cushioned and the bag material and shape is excellent. I did a thorough research and found that the only other competing option was Jansport 29in wheeled duffel. The Jansport wheeled duffel is a real quality bag. The eagle creek scored on two points. It was bigger than Jansport and most importantly the chains are lockable. Jansport does not have lockable chains, a big disadvantage that can kill your peace of mind. The Jansport bag is an Antic bag after all. lol.

American Flyer Fleur de Lis 4-Piece Luggage Set Review

(More customer reviews)I had my eye on this set for a while, then happened to find a couple of the pieces at a local store (and yes, it was the same brand)... I searched several of the same stores to finish my set and after 5 stores, I found it! Boy was I happy, until I noticed that the beautiful fabric snags! The piece I was looking for had a noticeable run going down the back. I scrapped at the fabric with my fingernail trying to figure out how that could happen, when I realized the fleur de lis pattern is machine "embroidered" and has a chance of snagging on something rough or sharp. I contemplated keeping it until I reasoned that if it snagged just being handled at a store, how could it handle an average trip? I would be curious to know how others thought the fabric held up. This set may be fine for car travel, but I'd be concerned about checking this luggage at the airport considering how baggage handlers just throw them around. If you love the set, however, I would highly recommend buying vinyl luggage protectors. (Amazon sells them.) I ended up deciding to return my pieces and purchased something else. Good luck!

Eagle Creek Travel Gear Pack-It Folder Review

(More customer reviews)In researching the pack it folder before I purchased it, I came across many many reviews that claimed this was one of the best packing products there was. Having used this folder as a part of my Eagle Creek pack it set on a week long trip I can vouch for how great it really is. The included folding board makes loading the folder very easy. It is very nice to have your suitcase compartmentalized, especially when you have to get something from the bottom or repack. The folder along with the other pack it items turn the empty hole of a suitcase into a very organized space. Thanks to the folder and pack it system I was able to pack a weeks worth of clothes into a 22" suitcase without coming close to blowing out the zippers. I will never travel again without the pack it folder.

(More customer reviews)We bought this American Tourister Suitcase for use on a recent business trip. Finding this locally allowed me to test the maneuverability of the "Spinner" wheels and that was really what sold it for me. Here are my observations:
+ Maneuverable; easy to push or pull in any direction, which is useful in crowded airports
+ Sturdy; held up through four airline check ins and multiple taxi trunks without noticeable ware
+ Roomy; plenty of space and sections for a week's worth of suits, extra shoes, undergarments, toiletries, etc
+ Good Quality; fabric, zippers, and handles all held up well
My only complaint is that the main internal plastic retention strap buckle is a little had to unclasp, but otherwise I couldn't be happier with this for the features and price.

(More customer reviews)We purchased this bag online after reading the reviews and comparing it to Rick Steve's Convertible Carry-On. This bag feels sturdier than Rick Steve's. Being a female, packing a lightweight bag (18 lbs) for a 3 week trip to France & Italy seemed daunting, but it was very do-able with the Weekender eTech Convertible. The multiple pockets enabled me to keep the smaller items organized such as receipts, maps, travel itineraries, etc. The bag functioned like a 22" carry-on, but much more flexible because it was a backpack. Because I am only 5 feet tall, my husband wore this backpack and I wore his much smaller one. The Weekender on my frame looked like a suitcase, but on my husband's 6 foot frame it looked like a regular backpack and enabled us to disguise it as such rather than a suitcase. The side buckles allowed us to further cinch the bag, condensing its size which was helpful in getting the bag into the overhead bins. We traveled via the Eurail system in Europe and for extra security, we used small locks to keep the zippers closed. This bag worked great for us since we were on the go between 6 different cities in 3 weeks. I highly recommend this bag to anyone who wants to travel lightly and for weeks at a time. It's also perfect for a couple who wants to get away for the weekend with only one bag!

I WAS FORCED TO CHECK THIS BAG TWICE BY TWO DIFFERENT AIRLINES BECAUSE IT WAS OVER THEIR SIZE LIMIT FOR CARRY-ON LUGGAGE. As far as I'm concerned, that's a deal-breaker for me with a "carry-on" bag.
Prospective buyers need to know the bag is taller and deeper (22.5 x 9) than the advertised dimensions on the Amazon site, before deciding if this one suits their needs. (pardon the pun)

Travelpro Maxlite 22" Expandable Rollaboard Carry-on - Black Review

(More customer reviews)Just used this on my first trip cross country. On the way from CA to PA, I used it as a carry-on. It fit nicely into the overhead and I didn't get any slack from the TSA regarding its size (it is the largest size for a carry-on). On the way back, I checked the bag because I had more stuff and had to expand it. It made it through the hands of the TSA without any tears, rips, etc. I probably could have gotten away with not checking it, but I didn't feel like trying to shove it into the overhead bin.
I was amazed at the amount of stuff I could get into it. I packed for a week with no problems. I like that it is significantly lighter than most of the other luggage pieces I looked at. This helps when you are trying to get it into the overhead on the plane. The wheels are sturdy and it was very balanced when I was lugging it through the airport.
The one thing I was concerned about was that the pull-out handle seems a bit wobbly. I went to a department store that sold this piece and talked to the sales person who knew a lot about luggage. He said that it is typical for it to be a bit wobbly. He showed me some other higher-end pieces that were the same and suggested I register the suitcase at TravelPro since they have a life-time warranty. He said they do this so it is easier to pull out the handle. From his experience (10 years in the luggage department), TravelPro has served its customers well and constructs quality luggage. Just a note, this same suitcase was significantly higher priced at the department store.
In all, I would recommend this product if you are looking for a nice-looking, quality carry-on piece of luggage.
